In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting attorneys and legal teams through a range of administrative and research tasks. The ideal candidate will support our team members in various family law matters. The Legal Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the office, enhancing client relationships, and maintaining thorough documentation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a solid understanding of legal terminology to excel in this role.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Organize, maintain, and update physical and electronic files.</li><li>Schedule meetings and court dates.</li><li>Draft and prepare documents.</li><li>Maintain calendars and track tasks, follow-ups, and reminders.</li><li>Assist with accounting and billing processes.</li><li>Answer phone calls with professionalism and excellent etiquette.</li><li>Provide administrative support for document preparation, including cover letters.</li><li>Collaborate with paralegals on needed tasks.</li><li>Track time accurately for all activities and tasks, unless otherwise instructed.</li></ul>Qualifications and Skills:<ul><li>Provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys, paralegals, and other team members.</li><li>Communicate with court personnel and file documents with appropriate authorities.</li><li>Maintain and organize case files, documents, and records efficiently.</li><li>Utilize document management systems for storing and retrieving legal documents.</li><li>Proofread and edit legal documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.</li><li>Prepare legal correspondence and assist with clerical tasks such as photocopying, scanning, and faxing.</li><li>Contribute to the preparation of legal contracts and agreements.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft 365.</li><li>Excellent attention to detail for proofreading and editing legal documents and commitment to accuracy.</li><li>Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.</li><li>Interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients, attorneys, and staff.</li><li>Exceptional organizational abilities with the capability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.</li><li>Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.</li><li>Familiarity with court procedures and legal principles.</li><li>Prior experience as a legal assistant, preferred.</li><li>Prior experience with legal document management systems, preferred.</li><li>High school diploma, required.</li></ul>Benefits:<ul><li>100% Employer Paid Medical Benefits for Employees and Dependents</li><li>Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance</li><li>401 (k) Matching</li><li>Paid Time Off and Holiday Pay</li></ul>Work Environment:<ul><li>Full-time position (8-hour shift)</li><li>On-site attendance required</li></ul>Join Our Team!If you are a motivated individual with a genuine enthusiasm for the legal field, we encourage you to apply.
