Job Title: Library AssistantJob Type: Part TimePay: $10.60 hourlySchedule: Up to 25 hours per week The Clinton Public Library seeks an energetic, motivated individual who is interested in joining its team. Primary responsibilities include providing prompt and friendly service to the public at the circulation desk, training patrons in different technologies, and assisting in maintaining the library's computers. Applicants must exhibit a desire to build library skills, an ability to train others, and a willingness to assume additional responsibilities.With minimal supervision, the Library Assistant I performs all of the duties of circulation and technology training. Applicants must be able to communicate effectively, follow written and oral instructions. Must be able to operate standard office equipment, lift and carry books up to 10/20 pounds on a regular basis, move heavy book trucks, stoop, bend and walk to assist customers with finding library material. Excellent customer service skills and computer experience required, including knowledge of internet resources, electronic databases, standard software, and Web 2.0 resources. This role supports merchandising, sales, and trade show execution by ensuring samples are organized, labeled, and maintained in client-ready condition. The coordinator also assists with trade show preparation, approved liquidation, and quality inspection of assets. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced product environment. Key ResponsibilitiesSample Library Organization & Maintenance<ul><li>Organize and maintain the sample library by brand, vendor, and category for maximum retrieval efficiency </li><li>Ensure all samples are properly labeled and maintained in go-to-market condition </li><li>Reconfigure shelving and rack space to accommodate seasonal product flow </li><li>Execute approved liquidation and maintain proper documentation </li><li>Maintain a clean, safe, and organized sample environment daily </li><li>Support merchandising and sales teams with sample retrieval and organization </li></ul>Seasonal Wall Setup & Maintenance<ul><li>Build and maintain seasonal showroom walls according to catalog order </li><li>Prepare and place Sample ID cards for each style </li><li>Ensure active styles are properly displayed and organized by brand </li><li>Monitor sample availability for sales meetings and customer presentations </li><li>Identify discontinued styles and prepare them for warehouse transfer </li><li>Communicate inventory shortages or overages to merchandising partners </li></ul>Receiving & Sample Processing<ul><li>Receive and process international sample shipments </li><li>Unpack, count, and organize samples by vendor and brand </li><li>Verify packing lists and document received quantities </li><li>Photograph products and upload documentation to designated folders </li><li>Process sample returns from sales reps and customers </li><li>Inspect returned samples and restore to client-ready condition </li><li>Reintegrate samples into showroom, library, or development areas </li><li>Maintain clean and safe receiving workspace </li></ul>Trade Show Coordination<ul><li>Organize trade show supplies and marketing materials </li><li>Assist with preparation and packing of show samples </li><li>Label cartons and prepare detailed content manifests </li><li>Build and wrap pallets according to shipping standards </li><li>Coordinate logistics with warehouse for timely pickups </li><li>Support trade show setup readiness and execution </li></ul>Container Inspection & Quality Support<ul><li>Perform container inspections as assigned </li><li>Communicate inspection findings and quality concerns </li><li>Assist in responding to product quality inquiries </li><li>Support quality documentation and follow-up </li></ul>Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications<ul><li>Strong attention to detail and organizational skills </li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment </li><li>Product handling or footwear experience preferred </li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) </li><li>Experience with inventory systems preferred </li><li>Ability to lift up to 40 pounds </li><li>Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the day </li><li>Strong communication and teamwork skills </li><li>Self-motivated with ability to prioritize workload </li></ul>What We Offer<ul><li>Competitive compensation </li><li>Comprehensive benefits package </li><li>Paid time off and Paid holidays </li><li>Growth opportunities within a multi-brand organization </li><li>Collaborative team environment </li><li>Fast-paced product-driven culture </li><li>Employee discounts on Spring Footwear brands </li></ul>
