Courses offered by the department include: Water Planet, Earthquake Country, General Geology, Field Geology of the Western US, Earth Systems History, Geology of California, Earth Resources & Environmental Change, Geomorphology, Petrology, Structural Geology, Sedimentology/Stratigraphy, Professional Development, and Topics in Advanced Physical Geology. Humboldt strives to build a supportive and inclusive Native community and engages with Native communities through initiatives and opportunities like the annual California Indian Big Time, Indigenous People's Week, and a chance to network with other faculty and staff as part of the Cal Poly Humboldt Council of American Indian Faculty and Staff.
