DescriptionWhat to expect:Martin Marietta is seeking a Pit Loader Operator to join our team. The ideal individual will be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated. This individual will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a Pit Loader and maintaining the quality of product stockpiles. The pit loader will maintain safe working speeds and promote site safety by asserting leadership of truck drivers onsite.Lemon Springs QuarrySanford, North CarolinaHours: 6AM - 4PM, weekends as necessaryA typical day for a(n) Pit Loader Operator may include:<ul><li>Operating a pit loader within the company guidelines and safety standards</li><li>Completing daily pre and post inspection of working areas and ensures they are equipped with adequate berms and roadways</li><li>Performing pre-shift safety inspection on equipment and reports needed repairs to the supervisor</li><li>Ensuring safe operations around conveyors, surge piles and crushers</li><li>Performing daily preventative maintenance - tire pressure, oil, grease, diesel fuel, hoses for leaks and all moving parts for proper function</li><li>Maintaining safe traffic flow throughout the site</li><li>Operating other equipment such as excavators and haul trucks in a safe manner as needed</li><li>Aiding in the training of co-workers as needed</li><li>Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor</li></ul>You may be a good fit if you:<ul><li>Possess a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with this position</li><li>Have experience in the maintenance and operation of mobile equipment, construction equipment and/or equipment used processing plants</li><li>Have six (6) months of experience in the operation and maintenance of a front-end loader (preferred)</li></ul>A member of the S&P 500 Index, Martin Marietta is an American-based company and a leading supplier of heavy building materials - including aggregates, cement, ready-mixed concrete and asphalt. The Wheel Loader Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and precise operation of wheel loaders on heavy civil and highway construction projects. This role supports earthwork, grading, paving, utilities, and material handling operations while maintaining productivity, safety, and equipment integrity in accordance with company standards. <ul><li>Operate wheel loaders to load, transport, and stockpile materials such as aggregate, asphalt, soil, concrete, and debris</li><li>Support grading, excavation, embankment, backfill, and paving operations</li><li>Maintain safe working distances from personnel, traffic, and other equipment</li><li>Perform daily equipment inspections and complete required documentation</li><li>Identify and report mechanical issues or maintenance needs promptly</li><li>Ensure proper material handling methods</li><li>Communicate effectively with foremen, supervisors, truck drivers, and ground personnel </li><li>Cleans and maintains equipment, making basic repairs as necessary.</li><li>Moves levers, pushes pedals, or turn valves to control equipment. Drives and maneuver equipment. </li><li>Coordinates machine actions with crew members using hand or audio signals. </li><li>Maintains knowledge of Company’s values and strategic plan.</li><li>Performs additional assignments per management’s direction.</li></ul>What we are looking for:
