The Mundy Companies, a leader in the industrial maintenance, services, and construction fields, is currently hiring the following for a long-term position in the Freeport, TX area:RAIL CAR LOADERRail Switching / Brake Setting Experience Required  (D-Rail)Successful candidates will have a year of continuous and current experience as a Bulk Loader in a petrochemical, industrial, or manufacturing environment.  Bulk Loaders transfer chemicals between plant tanks and various transport vehicles and containers, such as tank cars, tank trucks, inter-modal tank containers, drums, and tote bins.   Job Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li>Safely transfer bulk product to/from Railroad tank cars to/from tanker trucks.</li><li>Inspects the vehicle for cleanliness</li><li>Inspects the vehicle for safety and proper operating conditions</li><li>Connects and disconnects product hoses and loading arms</li><li>Connects and disconnects grounding/bonding cables</li><li>Conducts daily inspections of basic safety equipment, such as fire extinguishers, safety showers, and eye wash stations</li><li>Performs some lining up of valves and pumps for product transfer</li><li>Monitors product transfer for safety, quality, and productivity</li><li>Takes samples from vehicles/containers in accordance with established procedures</li><li>Communicates with production and other plant personnel, and with drivers and other carrier personnel</li><li>Loader is responsible for proper placarding, marking, and labeling</li><li>Participates in Mundy Safety Awareness Program</li><li>Participates in safety audits as requested</li><li>Attends daily/weekly Toolbox Safety Meetings and monthly Site-wide Safety Meetings</li><li>Uses extensive written procedures in completing all product transfer work</li><li>Uses extensive written check sheets in connection with product transfer work</li></ul>The successful candidate will maintain a high degree of personal safety and environmental awareness at all time.   This position requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a safe, efficient manner.  The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing is also required.  All qualified applicants must be craft certified or possess the ability to pass a craft test, as well as the ability to pass a criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen and other qualifications as required. The Distribution Loader will be assigned onsite at client location in Freeport, Texas. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: <ul><li>Performs necessary work and tasks in inspecting, loading, and unloading tank wagons and rail cars; and performs necessary work and tasks to unload, fill, and load drums. 40% time </li><li>Maintains current, detailed knowledge and understanding of all shipping equipment, chemicals that are loaded or unloaded, and contents of Shipping Procedures. 35% time </li><li>Maintains and records all inventory changes and performs all necessary work and tasks for the blending of products. 10% time </li><li>Records all loading and other necessary data and input information into the appropriate computer systems. 5% time </li><li>Monitors safe handling, identification, storage, and removal of hazardous waste streams resulting from loading and production activities. 5% time </li><li>Completes compliance and operating checklists and participates in the site's efforts at pollution prevention and continuous improvement. 5% time </li><li>Monitors efforts in the site to ensure compliance with all elements of Process Safety Management and the client Product Stewardship Initiatives. 5% time </li><li>Essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis and an ability to work extra hours if needed.
