The assistant director is responsible and accountable, twenty-four hours a day, for assigned tasks such as supervising the department's operations, including but not limited to, being a resource and role model to staff for problem resolution with concerns/occurrences specific to patient care, participate in direct patient care service delivery, safety awareness, supplies, equipment, computer software applications, and customer service concerns. Under the leadership of the Surgical Services Clinical Director, the assistant director collaborates with the Director, Supervisors, and Charge Nurses in planning, goal setting, developing department budgets, coordinating supplies/equipment, staffing (e.g.
