Mail Service Clerk and Supply Specialist  Urgently Hiring in Salem, OR! Job Title: Mail Service Clerk and Supply Specialist Pay: $20.29 per hour Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Start Date: June 1, 2026-estimated length of assignment is 6 weeks

As a Mail Service Clerk and Supply Specialist, you'll be at the heart of daily operations, ensuring timely mail handling, inventory support, and facilitating smooth deliveries. You'll work closely with department teams to support organizational needs and maintain efficient workflows. What You'll Do 
As a Mail Service Clerk and Supply Specialist, you will be responsible for: <ul><li>Processing incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and freight shipments promptly and accurately.
	</li><li>Opening, sorting, dating, and distributing mail in accordance with internal procedures.
	</li><li>Weighing, metering, and preparing outgoing mail using postage equipment efficiently.
	</li><li>Maintaining strict mail pickup and delivery schedules across multiple locations within Salem.
	</li><li>Driving a state vehicle to deliver and collect mail, supplies, and equipment safely and reliably.
	</li><li>Assisting with supply ordering, inventory tracking, and communicating with vendors to ensure stock levels.
	</li><li>Receiving, inspecting, and verifying incoming shipments against invoices.
	</li><li>Loading and unloading boxes, organizing storage areas, and maintaining inventory systems.
	</li><li>Assembling and disassembling furniture and performing minor repairs as needed.
	</li><li>Operating mailroom and warehouse equipment, including labeling and inserting machines.
</li></ul> What You'll Bring 
The ideal candidate for this role will have: <ul><li>Ability to work comfortably in a loud environment.
	</li><li>Basic computer skills for inventory and communication tasks.
	</li><li>Physical strength to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs regularly, and occasionally up to 70 lbs, while standing for long periods.
	</li><li>A valid Oregon Drivers License with a clean driving record.
	</li><li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
