During your on-call week, you’ll be part of a responsive support team that helps ensure system reliability and continuity.<ul><li>Acknowledge on-call contacts (phone, text, or email) within 15 minutes</li><li>Remain within reasonable access to your secure work laptop while on call</li><li>Log in and begin assessing or troubleshooting requests within 60 minutes of notification</li></ul>The on-call rotation is structured to provide balance while ensuring our federal partners receive timely, dependable support when it matters most.What you will do:<ul><li>Develop, create, and modify general computer applications software or specialized utility programs.</li><li>Migrate and modernize all current-system functionality from legacy mainframe systems into cloud-native microservices operating within AWS GovCloud.</li><li>Participate in the operation and support of an enterprise-scale production system, including identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving system issues in collaboration with the ART.</li><li>Analyze user needs and develop software solutions.</li><li>Analyze and design databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team.</li><li>Apply principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.</li><li>Migrate and modernize all current-system functionality from legacy mainframe systems into cloud-native microservices operating within AWS GovCloud.</li></ul>What you bringWe require: <ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 8 years of work experience or associate's degree with a minimum of 12 years of experience.</li></ul><ul><li>Active Tier 3 Secret clearance.</li><li>Experience working within an Agile framework, actively contributing to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and Cl/CD Pipeline.</li><li>5+ years' experience with Java Object-Oriented Programming.</li><li>5+ years' experience with Kubernetes and containers; automating the deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications.</li><li>Experience designing, building, and operating cloud-native architecture within secure, regulated environments.</li><li>Experience designing and supporting event-driven architectures with an emphasis on reliability, scalability, and fault tolerance.</li><li>5+ years of hands-on experience with three or more of the following:<ul><li>Apache Kafka</li><li>Pub/Sub (Publish, subscribe)</li><li>Streaming</li><li>Event sources</li><li>Running GitOps (GitLab, Git, Bitbucket, ArgoCD, Tecton, etc.) within version control tools.</li><li>Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) for version control management.</li><li>Ability for on-call support. These positions can expect to be on the on-call list one (1) week out of every four (4) weeks.</li></ul></li><li>Proficiency with Java Object-Oriented Programming</li><li>Experience with Cloud-native architecture<ul><li>Event-driven architecture; streaming (preferred).</li></ul></li><li>Experience with Kubernetes; automating the deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications</li><li>Experience running GitOps (GitLab, Bitbucket, ArgoCD, Tecton, etc.)</li><li>Experience with large scale systems</li></ul>Nice to have:<ul><li>Experience with Apache Kafka<ul><li>Pub/Sub (Publish, subscribe)</li><li>Streaming experience</li><li>Event sourcing</li></ul></li><li>Experience with OpenTelemetry</li><li>Experience with AWS </li><li>Experience with Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) is a plus.</li><li>Provide technical leadership for the development team, including collaboration with the System Architects to implement architectural decisions that ensure alignment with ART standards, patterns, and security requirements.</li><li>Actively mentor developers, including support for junior and mid-level developers in solutioning and design decisions, promotion ofbes.t practices in code development, testing, and documentation.</li><li>Demonstrate a positive, collaborative attitude and a commitment to team success</li><li>Takes pride in delivering high-quality, reliable software that supports a mission-critical system</li><li>Shows ownership and accountability for assigned work and shared team outcomes</li><li>Engages constructively in Agile ceremonies and technical discussions</li><li>Maintains a strong work ethic, professionalism, and respect for teammates, stakeholders, and mission priorities</li><li>Adapts to change and approaches challenges with a solution-oriented mindset </li></ul>High-level objects include, but are not limited to the following:<ul><li>Migrate all current-system functionality from the mainframes and operate within a cloud-based environment (AWS GovCloud)</li><li>Incorporate modern name search capabilities.</li><li>Expand image handling to accept larger files and support additional file formats, such as PDF.</li><li>Transition investigative search to Elasticsearch, providing a faster response and report creation time for law enforcement.</li><li>Build new services to follow microservices architecture and run within containers using the OpenShift platform.</li><li>Transition database functionality from IBM DB2 to the appropriate cloud data store.</li><li>Update NIEM schemas and IEPDs to allow agencies to use updated functionality and speed up the dot-delimited message format retirement.</li></ul> Work environment: Remote with occasional travel as required.
