Electrician Technician Job Responsibilities: • Perform general maintenance and repairs on electrical systems and components • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair • Test electrical systems and components using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure proper functioning • Isolate defective circuits and replace fuses or reset circuit breakers • Connect wiring in electrical circuits according to specifications using hand tools or power tools • Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment such as motors • Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools or power tools • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem • Plan layout of projects • Perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting heavy objects. However, employees who have access to the compensation information of other employees or applicants as a part of their essential job functions cannot disclose the pay of other employees or applicants to individuals who do not otherwise have access to compensation information unless the disclosure is (a) in response to a formal complaint or charge, (b) in furtherance of an investigation, proceeding, hearing, or action, including an investigation conducted by the employer, or (c) consistent with the contractors legal duty to furnish information.
