Applicants should have construction industry experience and access to reliable transportation. Laborers with special skills, such as concrete finishing and form, and rough carpentry, are in especially high demand. We offer a consistent work schedule. Additionally, he or she should be familiar with construction industry safety standards and procedures to ensure project security. Experienced Concrete/Masonry Laborer

As a Construction Materials Testing Technician, you will perform field and laboratory testing and inspection of construction materials including concrete, soils, asphalt, and masonry on a wide variety of commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects. This role will also provide opportunities to assist our Nondestructive Examination (NDE) team with field and laboratory inspection activities, equipment testing, and maintenance of specialized testing equipment and facilities.

Encorus Group is currently seeking full-time Construction Materials Testing Technicians to join our growing team in Rochester, NY. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in hands-on field work, construction inspection, and materials testing with opportunities for training, certification, and long-term career growth. As a Construction Materials Testing Technician, you will perform field and laboratory testing and inspection of construction materials including concrete, soils, asphalt, and masonry on a wide variety of commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects. Technicians work both at active construction sites and within Encorus Group’s accredited testing laboratory, helping ensure quality, safety, and compliance throughout the construction process. This role will also provide opportunities to assist our Nondestructive Examination (NDE) team with field and laboratory inspection activities, equipment testing, and maintenance of specialized testing equipment and facilities. Responsibilities:<ul><li>Conduct field inspections at construction sites to ensure compliance with project requirements.</li><li>Test physical properties of materials like concrete, soil, and asphalt.</li><li>Examine test samples, interpret blueprints, schematics, and measuring instruments.</li><li>Evaluate and review test and construction data with supervisors, reporting findings to engineers and other laboratory personnel.</li><li>Collect soil and construction material samples in the field; perform laboratory testing as required.</li><li>Set up and adapt test equipment based on data sheets and instructions from engineering department personnel.</li><li>Perform various tests on construction materials using advanced materials-testing equipment.</li><li>Inspect asphalt and concrete batch plants, ensuring compliance with specifications.</li><li>Record and report test results, performing necessary mathematical calculation.</li><li>Utilize computer software including tablets, computers and cell phones for documentation and communication purposes.</li><li>Maintain accurate records of testing procedures, results, and equipment calibration.</li><li>Assist with Senior NDE inspectors with inspections on an as needed basis. </li></ul>Requirements:<ul><li>High School Diploma or GED.</li><li>Ability to obtain certifications from ACI, NICET, ICC, and AWS, and maintain them as directed by the company.</li><li>Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Ability to work independently in field environments and active construction sites.</li><li>Comfortable working in varying environmental and weather conditions.</li><li>Valid driver’s license with the ability to operate a motor vehicle for field testing and inspections</li><li>Willingness and ability to travel to client project sites locally on a regular basis.</li><li>Ability to pass a drug screening and background check.</li><li>Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE)</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li style="margin-left:16px">Prior construction experience</li><li style="margin-left:16px">OSHA training preferred.</li><li style="margin-left:16px">Current certifications from the ACI, NICET, ICC, and AWS organizations.</li></ul>Pay Range: Encorus Group is an equal opportunity employer (EOE/AA Disability/Veteran) and is committed to fair and equitable compensation for our employees.
