Job SummaryThe Part-Time Package Handler will load, unload, and sort freight accurately and in a timely manner to ensure quick delivery. Hours and Wages<ul><li>Tuesday-Saturday, 5:30AM start</li><li>$18.00-20.00 per hour, based on experience </li></ul>Duties and Responsibilities<ul><li style="line-height:115%">Unload packages by hand from fleet vehicles</li><li style="line-height:115%">Scan package barcode labels while unloading for tracking purposes</li><li style="line-height:115%">Sort each package by zip code, city, or state</li><li style="line-height:115%">Stack freight into trailers and routes in a manner to prevent damage and utilize space efficiently </li><li style="line-height:115%">Wash fleet vehicles to maintain company image, as needed</li><li style="line-height:115%">Perform light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned</li></ul>Skills and Abilities<ul><li>Excellent verbal communication skills</li><li>Efficient time management skills</li><li>Excellent organization skills and attention to detail</li><li>Ability to read labels at a fast pace and work independently</li></ul>Education and Experience<ul><li>At least 16 years of age</li><li>High school diploma or equivalent preferred</li></ul>Physical Requirements<ul><li>Ability to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freight</li><li>Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively and up to 100 pounds occasionally</li><li>Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals</li></ul>Benefits<ul><li>401(k) Plan</li></ul>EEO and Affirmative Action StatementSpee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer. <h5>Warehouse Worker </h5>Warehouse associates are the foundation to our company's success. They work actively, safely, and independently to maintain the efficient flow of products through our distribution process, while ensuring quality standards. As a Warehouse Worker, you will support the shipping and/or receiving functions activities within our warehouse. The Warehouse Worker performs shipping and/or receiving functions in a timely manner while maintaining inventory and warehouse work areas, observing all safety regulations, and ensuring all quality standards are met while maintaining the efficient flow of product through the production process. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company. Responsibilities may include, but not limited to: <ul><li>Performs general warehouse duties as assigned including but not limited to forklift put-away, let-downs, will-call selection, returns, sanitation, break down pallets, wrapping pallets, order selection, loading, and receiving. </li><li>Performs general housekeeping duties and keep warehouse area, loading dock and trailers clear and clean as required. Ensures work area is safe and report any unsafe conditions and/or acts immediately. </li><li>Performs daily safety check of the assigned forklift/pallet jack in accordance with company policy. </li><li>Performs damage control checks on items received and contact supervisor about removing items according to company policy. </li><li>Removes batteries requiring recharging, replace with charged batteries and complete vehicle inspection checklist. Follows all preferred work methods, safety policies and procedures per company guidelines. </li><li>Reviews work schedule and daily production paperwork and prepare for operations. </li><li>Puts on all required Personal Protective Equipment and Safety Gear. </li><li>Meets required productivity and accuracy standards per location and company guidelines. </li><li>Secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork. </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned. </li></ul>
