Starting salary for this position is: $42.05 - $89.48 per hour based on workload category. This is an adjunct (part-time) position. About the Mathematics Instructor - Adjunct - Spokane Community College DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Prepare for and instruct classes in Mathematics. Class modality may be in person, hybrid, or online.• Provide availability to students through a combination of office hours, e-mail and other effective means of responsive and timely communication.• Communicate expectations and establish clear grading criteria, to include but not limited to developing course syllabi, handouts, and materials supporting the instructional process.• Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback.• Comply with state and federal law applicable to professional duties and responsibilities; follow established procedures in areas such as printing, turning in grades, student safety and health issues and related administrative processes. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Master's degree in Mathematics or Statistics or in a closely related field with graduate level Math coursework.• Experience teaching Mathematics.• Commitment to fostering and supporting student success.• Understanding and acceptance of the mission, values, goals and objectives of SCC.• The ability to perform assigned duties in a manner consistent with applicable laws, regulations and goals of the institution, community and technical college system. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS • One year of full time post-secondary teaching experience (graduate students are encouraged to apply).• Experience with non-STEM algebra or introductory college level transfer Mathematics classes.• Ability to assist students with a wide range of mathematical skills. Person hired must be able to provide acceptable documentation of U.S. Citizenship or lawful authorization to work in the United States. This is an absolute condition of employment.
