The Mathematics & Statistics Department is seeking a Teaching Associate beginning August 16, 2026, for a temporary position until December 15, 2026. Applicants must hold an M.S. in mathematics, statistics, or a related field with at least 18 graduate credits in the discipline. Primary responsibilities include teaching introductory mathematics and/or statistics courses to undergraduates and supporting experiential learning initiatives. Our organization relies on volunteers to provide free tutoring in Horry County, SC, helping children and adults improve their reading, writing, and math skills. We collaborate with schools, and our Executive Director participates in parent-school meetings such as IEP, 504 Plans, and assessment sessions.

Our organization relies on volunteers to provide free tutoring in Horry County, SC, helping children and adults improve their reading, writing, and math skills. Volunteers tutor for 1 hour, twice weekly for children, and 2 hours once a week for adults. We supply the materials and training needed for effective, one-on-one instruction at local libraries. Each student receives a personalized program tailored to their needs. Many volunteers find the materials easy to use and do not need teaching experience; however, former educators are encouraged to join. We collaborate with schools, and our Executive Director participates in parent-school meetings such as IEP, 504 Plans, and assessment sessions. With a long waitlist of students eager for tutoring, we invite you to become part of our team and make a difference!
