Located 110 miles south of Portland, the University of Oregon has an enrollment of over 25,000. The Eugene metro area is in a region noted for its dynamic quality of life and progressive cultural environment. We are about an hour's drive from the Pacific coast and the Cascade Mountains. Lundquist College of Business has taught its students the critical skills, they need to think for themselves, to be leaders in a dynamic world, and to make better decisions on behalf of the people and resources they manage. Lundquist Admissions within the College of Business provides a professional yet vibrant experience for our undergraduate and graduate students as they begin or continue their learning experience.<br/><br/>The Department of Finance offers courses in finance and business economics. The undergraduate program offers a concentration in finance. The Oregon MBA program offers a specialization in finance and securities analysis, which is supported by the Cameron Center for Finance and Securities Analysis. The curriculum focuses on imparting an understanding of the principles that guide financial management, asset management, and general business management. <br/><br/>The department also oversees the Master of Science in Finance program as well as the PhD program in finance, which focuses on training students to conduct scholarly research and to teach at the college level.</p><h4 style="margin:0 !important">Position Summary</h4><p>The Department of Finance maintains a pool of candidates interested in filling pro tempore positions as needs arise. Pro Tem positions are limited-duration appointments potentially renewable for up to a total of three years. Pro tempore faculty work under the supervision of the Senior Associate Dean for Faculty and Research and/or the requisite department head.<br/><br/>The Department is seeking talented pro tem faculty who are passionate about teaching and learning to teach Finance at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Courses are scheduled to be conducted on campus and in the classroom.<br/><br/>Candidates should be strongly committed to quality undergraduate and graduate instruction, service to students, contributing positively to our diverse community, and working effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.</p><h4 style="margin:0 !important">Minimum Requirements</h4><p>Instructor:<br/>• Master’s degree. In exceptional circumstances, a BA/BS degree and evidence of substantial professional experience may substitute for an advanced degree.<br/><br/>Lecturer (for those teaching primarily graduate-level courses):<br/>• Terminal degree in relevant field.<br/><br/>Professor of Practice: <br/>• Substantial basis of experience equal to a tenured professor (normally a minimum of 12 years). <br/>• National/international reputation for excellence reflected in a record of significant accomplishments. <br/>• Profile of accumulated professional accomplishments. <br/>• Rich and extensive background in the field.</p><h4 style="margin:0 !important">Professional Competencies</h4><p>• Excellent written and verbal communication skills that will enhance community relations and support undergraduate/graduate student training.<br/>• Ability to contribute positively to our diverse community and to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.<br/>• Ability or potential for quality teaching.</p><h4 style="margin:0 !important">Preferred Qualifications</h4><p>• PhD or other doctorate and demonstrated teaching experience.</p><hr/><p><strong>All offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a background check.</strong></p><p>The University of Oregon is proud to offer a robust benefits package to eligible employees, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
