Daily tasks in this role include patient registration/check-in, verifiying all registration documents are up-to-date, answering phone calls, reviewing faxes, collecting patient payments, completing insurance prior authorization requests, appealing denied insurance prior authorizations, requesting medical records from other healthcare providers/services, answering/addressing patient portal questions/concerns, performing vital signs and recording in the electronic health record (EHR), uploading patient documents to the EHR, preparing the charts of upcoming appointments, scheduling/re-scheduling patient appointments, other duties as assigned by the healthcare provider. Personnel in such positions, and similarly situated state contractors, will be routinely reviewed to determine whether things such as criminal history or continuous connections to the government or political apparatus of a foreign adversary might prevent the applicant, employee, or contractor from being able to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure.
