A Mentor Teacher of Record provides direct coaching, feedback, and thought partnership to a group of corps members and utilizes a variety of coaching strategies – including live coaching, lesson planning support, and observation and debriefing – to ensure corps members plan for and deliver rigorous instruction; facilitate a positive and productive classroom culture and environment; and build strong relationships with students and other educators. Mentor Teachers of Record will help to develop corps members in the knowledge, skills, and judgment they will need to become ambitious beginning teacher leaders who build strong relationships with students and lead them to meaningful outcomes.
