Overview:
The Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences (SHS) at Utah State University is seeking a practicum mentor to support graduate students in the Listening and Spoken Language (LSL) graduate training program. This role involves mentoring students as they provide LSL Deaf Education services, helping them develop the knowledge, skills, and professional competencies needed to effectively serve children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH) and their families. The practicum mentor will provide guidance, feedback, and evaluation of student performance across a range of clinical and educational settings, with an emphasis on evidence-based and family-centered practices. The mentor plays a key role in supporting students as they translate coursework into practice and demonstrate competencies aligned with national professional standards. Applications are now being accepted for a wage hourly practicum mentor position in the Listening and Spoken Language (LSL) Interdisciplinary Graduate Training Program at Utah State University.  This position is eligible for remote work. 

Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Provide mentorship to distance graduate students in the LSL Master of Education Interdisciplinary program and the LSL Post-Master’s Certificate program as they complete direct service practicum requirements.</li><li>Responsibilities include maintaining regular communication (Zoom/email), supporting lesson planning and LSL strategy implementation, observing live and/or recorded sessions, and providing feedback on student performance and video self-reflections, in alignment with program, state, and national standards.</li><li>Collaborate with the LSL Practicum Supervisor to coordinate with external partners, support practicum placements, and ensure students meet requirements for Utah Deaf Education Professional Educator licensure.</li><li>Participate in program meetings and engage in activities supporting both the Master of Education and Post-Master’s Certificate programs.</li></ul>

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications<ul><li>A master’s degree in Deaf Education, Speech-Language Pathology, or related field, with LSL expertise.</li><li>Demonstrated potential to provide effective graduate student mentoring to support and promote student competencies in delivering evidence-based, family-centered LSL services.</li><li>Ability to fulfill program responsibilities in a HIPAA-compliant, disruption-free space if seeking remote work.</li><li>Three or more years of professional experience in serving young children who are DHH who are developing and using LSL, including a basic understanding of current hearing technology.  </li><li>Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Experience in graduate student mentoring or supervision in LSL deaf education services.</li><li>LSLS Cert. AVEd. or LSLS Cert. AVT</li><li>Experience in providing family-centered services using tele-intervention.</li></ul>

Overview:
The Department of Applied Sciences, Technology, and Education (ASTE) at Utah State University invites applications for a Professional Practice Assistant Professor position in the Agricultural Education program with a role of 80% Teaching (teacher mentoring/outreach), 10% Research, 10% Service. This position may be located at any of our USU Statewide campuses along the Wasatch Front or main campus in Logan, UT. This is a nine-month, non-tenure track, academic-year appointment beginning August 2026. This position serves as a faculty member in the Applied Sciences, Technology and Education department. This position directly supports Utah State University’s vision for agricultural education and is funded to serve as Utah’s statewide Agriculture teacher mentor, with a primary focus on educator mentorship, professional development, and strengthening teacher recruitment and retention. The role emphasizes preparing and supporting high-quality educators through relevant, rigorous, and practice-based learning experiences aligned with workforce needs and connected to postsecondary opportunities. The successful candidate will provide statewide leadership in advancing agricultural education within Utah’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) system, with a focus on measurable outcomes, program impact, and legislative accountability. This legislatively funded position emphasizes the collection, analysis, and reporting of program data to demonstrate effectiveness, inform continuous improvement, and support state-level decision-making. The Agricultural Education program prepares future educators to teach agriculture-related subjects at the junior high and high school levels. The program integrates agriculture, food and natural resources content with pedagogical training, including clinical and student teaching experiences. The program emphasizes the three-component model of agricultural education: classroom/laboratory instruction, Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE), and FFA leadership development.
