Job Description <ul><li>Adapts teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests. </li><li>Instructs students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods, such as lectures, discussions, and demonstrations. </li><li>Provides a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use, both in learning activities and in imaginative play. </li><li>Plans and conducts activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate. </li><li>Meets with parents and guardians to discuss their children's progress and to determine priorities for their children and their resource needs. </li><li>Prepares, administers, and grades tests and assignments to evaluate students' progress. </li><li>Organizes and leads activities designed to promote physical, mental, and social development, such as games, arts and crafts, music, and storytelling. </li><li>Demonstrates the ability to create a student-centered classroom. </li><li>Establishes and enforces rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among students. </li><li>Develops engaging and effective lesson plans and supplementary materials. </li><li>Provides ongoing formative feedback to students. </li><li>Evaluates academic and social growth of students and keeps appropriate records to include report cards, attendance records, and other recordkeeping activities. </li><li>Communicates with parents, school counselors and administrators on student progress. </li><li>Plans and supervises class projects, field trips, visits by guest speakers, or other experiential activities, and guides students in learning from those activities. </li><li>Attends professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence. </li><li>Performs additional duties as assigned </li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>A bachelor's degree in elementary education </li><li>A current Oregon teaching license </li><li>Experience teaching </li></ul>Additional Information Please attach resume, references, and letter of interest Position open until filled Salary: $38,000 - $63,871 DOE This position comes with a comprehensive benefits package that includes: <ul><li>Medical/dental/vision insurance fully paid by the employer for the employee </li><li>Employer paid life and disability insurance </li><li>403b retirement plan </li><li>Flexible spending account </li><li>Employee assistance program </li><li>Generous personal and sick leave </li><li>Professional development </li></ul> We are a qualifying employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness and Teacher Loan Forgiveness programs.
