Location: On-site at a partner school (varies by assignment) Schedule: 1–4 hours per week, after school Program Length: ~10 weeks Start Date: Rolling openings based on school schedules Compensation: $50+ per instructional hour (flexible based on experience, program, and commute)About the RoleConcorde Education is seeking a Digital Music Production Instructor to lead engaging after-school programs for students. This role focuses on helping students create original music using beginner-friendly digital tools such as BandLab, Soundtrap, or GarageBand.Instructors will guide students through hands-on, project-based learning where they build beats, layer sounds, and produce complete tracks. Programs are designed for beginner to intermediate students, with flexibility based on site technology and grade level.No formal teaching experience required—ideal for musicians, producers, and creatives who enjoy working with students.What You’ll Teach<ul><li>Students will learn how to create music from idea to finished track. Topics may include:</li><li>Beat-making and rhythm basics</li><li>Looping and layering sounds</li><li>Intro to melodies, chords, and song structure</li><li>Using a DAW (BandLab, Soundtrap, GarageBand)</li><li>Recording basics (if equipment allows)</li><li>Basic mixing (levels, balance, simple effects)</li><li>Exporting and sharing finished tracks</li></ul>Responsibilities<ul><li>Lead structured, engaging music production sessions</li><li>Guide students through creating original music projects</li><li>Adapt instruction for different skill levels and tech setups</li><li>Create a positive, inclusive environment that encourages creativity</li><li>Support basic tech setup and troubleshooting (headphones, tracks, logins)</li><li>Communicate with program staff regarding attendance and session updates</li><li>Support a culminating project or showcase (if applicable)</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Minimum of 60 college credits (completed or in progress)</li><li>Experience with a DAW (BandLab, Soundtrap, GarageBand, or similar)</li><li>Experience working with students (schools, camps, tutoring, or youth programs)</li><li>Strong communication and classroom management skills</li><li>Reliable, punctual, and professional</li></ul>Who This Role Is Great For<ul><li>Musicians, producers, and beat-makers</li><li>College students in music, audio, or production programs</li><li>DJs, hobby producers, and creatives</li><li>Teaching artists and instructors who enjoy working with youth</li></ul>
