Nature Aquariums, located in the heart of Broward County, Florida, is offering a 12 to 16-week unpaid internship designed to provide comprehensive exposure to both marine and freshwater aquatic life.​ About Us: At Nature Aquariums, we are passionate about the well-being and care of aquatic life. Our holistic approach emphasizes educating customers to ensure the best possible care for their aquatic pets. As a growing store, we offer a dynamic environment for learning and professional development.​ Internship Responsibilities: <ul><li>Greet and assist customers in our showroom.​ </li><li>Support the team with aquarium and system maintenance.​ </li><li>Engage in hands-on projects to learn various aspects of the aquarium trade.​ </li><li>Develop proficiency in identifying and caring for marine and freshwater flora and fauna.​ </li></ul>What We Offer: <ul><li>Close-up experience with a diverse range of marine and freshwater species, including fish, invertebrates, corals, and plants.​ </li><li>Real-world experience in diagnosing and correcting water chemistry and aquatic health issues.​ </li><li>Exposure to a retail environment, enhancing professional customer interaction skills.​ </li><li>Basic business experience in a for-profit setting.​ </li><li>Ongoing coaching and feedback throughout the internship.​ </li><li>Assistance in obtaining academic credit, if applicable.​ </li><li>A letter of recommendation upon successful completion of the program.​ </li></ul>Schedule: <ul><li>Duration: 12 to 16 weeks.​ </li><li>Commitment: 15-25 hours per week, including Saturdays and/or Sundays, with flexibility to accommodate academic schedules.​ </li></ul>Qualifications: <ul><li>Customer service experience preferred but not required.​ </li><li>Prior knowledge of aquarium fish keeping is advantageous but not essential.​ </li><li>Proficiency in additional languages, particularly Spanish, is a plus.​ </li><li>Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.​ </li><li>Positive attitude, discipline, and a drive to succeed.​ </li><li>Competence in using computer and smartphone software.​ </li><li>A passion for animals and comfort with hands-on tasks involving water.​ </li></ul>Application Process: If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact us to receive an application and initiate the interview process.
