Summary: The Vice President of CDS Housing will lead and oversee affordable housing development services and property management for CDS Housing, a non-profit organization. This role requires commitment to affordable housing initiatives, exceptional leadership skills, and aproven track record in both property development and property management. The Vice President of CDS Housing will manage a dedicated team, driving efforts to create sustainable and affordable housing solutions. Essential Job Functions: <ul><li>Oversee all aspects of affordable housing development projects, from conception to completion, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. </li><li>Collaborate with the Director of Development to identify new opportunities for affordable housing projects, including funding sources, partnerships, and community engagement strategies. </li><li>Provide strategic direction for property management operations, ensuring the effective management of the organization's affordable housing portfolio. </li><li>Develop best practices in property management, including tenant relations, maintenance, and financial performance. </li><li>Create and manage the departmental budgets, ensuring optimal resource allocation and financial accountability at each of the properties. </li><li>Monitor project financials, including funding applications, capital budgets, and operational budgets, and vendor contracts, to ensure financial sustainability. </li><li>Ensure all projects and properties comply with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies. </li><li>Identify potential risks associated with development and property management and implement strategies to mitigate them. </li><li>Serve as a key spokesperson for the organization on affordable housing issues, representing the organization at community meetings, conferences, and public forums. </li><li>Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders, local leaders and politicians, government agencies, and non-profit organizations to advance affordable housing initiatives. </li><li>Monitor, track, and support development projects, including reviewing applications and grant materials before submission as needed </li><li>Travel to CDS Housing properties on a regular basis to ensure quality standards are met, follow up is completed timely, and future developments are identified. </li></ul><ul><li>Present CDS Housing reports at internal CDS Life Transitions meetings </li><li>Other related duties as assigned </li></ul> Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:<ul><li>Strong knowledge of affordable housing policies, financing mechanisms, and compliance requirements. </li><li>Strong understanding of financial modeling, budgeting and analysis </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication </li><li>Proven ability to lead and manage teams </li><li>Proficient negotiator </li><li>Able to multitask and simultaneously manage multiple projects </li><li>Must be a critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills. </li><li>Must be organized and deadline driven. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, outlook and other relevant software. </li></ul>Education and Experience:<ul><li>Bachelor's degree required in Urban Planning, Finance, Real Estate, Public Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). </li><li>Minimum of 10 years of experience in affordable housing development and property management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. </li><li>Experience with project management, particularly in managing complex real estate development projects. </li><li>Proven legal and compliance knowledge (i.e. HUD, HCR, local zoning) </li><li>Proven track record of successfully managing development projects from inception to completion. </li></ul> CDS Life Transitions is committed to equal employment opportunity.
