Required Qualifications<ul><li>Education: High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience</li><li>Schedule: Ability to travel (including during inclement weather) to and from assigned customer premises, company facilities and other locations as necessary.</li><li>Language: Fluent in English. </li><li>Technical skills: Proficiency in using computers and software applications. Competent in using hand tools.</li><li>Abilities: Effective communication, professionalism, time management, organization, critical thinking, responsibility and reliability. </li><li>Valid Driver’s license with safe driving record within company standards required.</li><li>Physical: Walk over various terrains and weather conditions while carrying tools and equipment. Safely use weight-bearing equipment (up to 345 lbs) and lift up to 75 lbs. Climb ladders up to 32 feet and work in confined spaces and at heights. Operate and navigate a company vehicle in changing environments. Work with small components and wires. Your Job Koch Fertilizer, LLC is now hiring a self-driven Operations and Instrumentation Technician to join the fertilizer shipping and storage terminal located in Vernon Center, MN. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining Instrumentation & Electrical control systems and will perform duties to ensure the safe, compliant, and reliable operations of the terminal. *This is a flexible day shift position, Monday - Friday and may include some over-night travel to other terminals as well as overtime opportunities during the spring and fall fertilizer application season. The successful candidate will be able to report to on-call requests within 45 minutes of the terminal reporting location.For this role, we anticipate paying $33.00 - $45.00 per hour. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.*** $5,000 Sign-on Bonus ***Our Team Koch Fertilizer, LLC owns network of storage and terminal assets across the Midwest responsible for storage and shipment of anhydrous ammonia to customers for agricultural and industrial use.What You Will Do <ul><li> Work with full life cycle of ammonia processes including refrigeration, gas fired heating, instrumentation, and PLC control systems, pumps, motors, and loading/unloading product </li><li> Troubleshoot, maintain, and operate ammonia refrigeration, storage, loading/unloading systems </li><li> Train customers how to safely load anhydrous ammonia </li><li> Perform general housekeeping and grounds maintenance </li><li> Assist the Terminal Leader with compliance documentation </li><li> Manage calibration, installation, verification, and validation of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems </li><li> Troubleshoot and maintain I&E Control systems through inspections, tests, adjustments, and repairs of electric, electronic, mechanical, instruments and systems </li><li> Manage daily maintenance work utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) </li><li> Perform reliability-based maintenance, repair, or replacement of a variety of instruments including but not limited to, flow, level, pressure, temperature, vibration, variable frequency drives, electric motors, and analyzers </li><li> Improve, develop, and implement maintenance process improvements and efficiencies </li></ul>Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) <ul><li> Experience OR training in the maintenance and troubleshooting electrical control systems </li><li> Experience reading electrical and piping circuit drawings </li><li> Valid Driver's license </li></ul>Physical Requirements: <ul><li> Ability to be medically approved to participate in the respiratory protection and HAZWOPER programs </li><li> Ability to push/pull up to 75 lbs </li><li> Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs </li><li> Ability to grip up to 30 lbs </li><li> Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and work at heights up to 100 ft </li><li> Ability to work outdoors in various types of weather </li><li> Ability to sit, stand or kneel as needed </li><li> Ability to wear full Level A Personal Protective Equipment while performing work duties </li></ul>What Will Put You Ahead <ul><li> 3+ years of industrial electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems experience </li><li> 3+ years of experience working with Motor Controls, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's), Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's) </li><li> Knowledge of industrial test equipment (Hart Communicator, Multimeter, signal generators, etc.) with troubleshooting and electrical skills </li><li> Experience with a CMMS system (Ex: Maximo) </li><li> Associates degree in a technical field </li><li> Previous leadership experience </li></ul>At Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
