<h3><strong>Neurosurgeon (MD/DO)</strong></h3><h3><strong>Position Summary</strong></h3><p>The Neurosurgeon provides comprehensive surgical and non-surgical care for patients with disorders of the brain, spine, and nervous system. This role includes evaluation, diagnosis, operative and perioperative management of neurosurgical conditions, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and delivery of evidence-based, patient-centered neurosurgical care.</p><p/><h3><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong></h3><ul><li> Evaluate and manage patients with neurosurgical conditions affecting the brain, spine, and peripheral nervous system </li><li> Perform neurosurgical procedures consistent with training and privileges, including cranial and spinal surgeries </li><li> Provide preoperative assessment, operative care, and postoperative management </li><li> Manage neurosurgical emergencies and participate in on-call coverage </li><li> Interpret diagnostic studies including MRI, CT, angiography, and other neuroimaging </li><li> Collaborate with neurology, critical care, trauma surgery, oncology, orthopedics, and rehabilitation services </li><li> Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences and care planning </li><li> Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, risks, and expected outcomes </li><li> Supervise and educate residents, fellows, advanced practice providers, or trainees as applicable </li><li> Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation </li><li> Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and outcomes initiatives </li><li> Comply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards </li></ul><p/><h3><strong>Qualifications</strong></h3><ul><li> Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school </li><li> Completion of an accredited Neurosurgery residency program </li><li> Fellowship training in a neurosurgical subspecialty preferred but not required </li><li> Board-eligible or board-certified in Neurosurgery </li><li> Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure </li><li> DEA registration or eligibility </li></ul><p/><h3><strong>Skills and Competencies</strong></h3><ul><li> Advanced expertise in neurosurgical techniques and perioperative management </li><li> Strong clinical judgment and operative decision-making skills </li><li> Ability to manage complex and high-acuity neurologic conditions </li><li> Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills </li><li> Commitment to evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and patient safety </li></ul><p/><h3><strong>Work Environment</strong></h3><ul><li> Hospital operating rooms, intensive care units, inpatient wards, and outpatient clinics </li><li> Call coverage including nights, weekends, and holidays as required </li></ul><p/><h3><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></h3><ul><li> Ability to stand for extended periods during surgical procedures </li><li> Manual dexterity and physical stamina for complex operative cases </li><li> Visual and auditory acuity sufficient for operative and clinical environments </li></ul>
