Responsibilities include: • Provide direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs, assisting with mobility, and supporting activities of daily living • Administer prescribed medications, injections, and IV therapies under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or physician • Assist in dressing changes, wound care, and post-surgical care according to physician orders • Observe and report changes in patient conditions, including symptoms, reactions to treatments, or changes in vital signs • Work closely with RNs, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team to implement individualized care plans for patients • Provide patients and families with instructions regarding post-discharge care, medication regimens, and follow-up appointments • Adhere to infection control protocols, including proper hand hygiene, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and sterile techniques • Assist in responding to patient emergencies and follow protocols to ensure timely and appropriate care. • Educational and career development options, including tuition and certification reimbursement, scholarship opportunities • Staff Safety (a wearable badge that allows nurses to quickly and discreetly call for help when safety is a concern) • Differentials for night/weekend shifts, higher education, certifications, and various lead roles (for eligible positions) • Malpractice liability insurance • Loan forgiveness through the New Mexico Higher Education Department • EPIC electronic charting system.
