Gulf Marine Repair Day & Night ShiftThe Crane Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a variety of heavy lifting equipment in a shipyard environment. This role requires precision, strong situational awareness, and adherence to all safety regulations while handling materials and equipment.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li style="line-height:normal">Operate crawler cranes, lattice boom cranes, and hydraulic cranes of various sizes </li><li style="line-height:normal">Operate barge-mounted friction cranes as required </li><li style="line-height:normal">Perform pre-operational inspections and routine equipment checks </li><li style="line-height:normal">Safely lift, move, and position materials according to lift plans and site conditions </li><li style="line-height:normal">Interpret load charts and accurately calculate load weights and capacities </li><li style="line-height:normal">Assist with rigging operations as needed to ensure proper load securement </li><li style="line-height:normal">Communicate effectively with riggers, signal persons, and supervisors </li><li style="line-height:normal">Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and regulatory requirements </li></ul>Minimum Requirements:<ul><li style="line-height:normal">4+ years of crane operating experience </li><li style="line-height:normal">2–3 years of experience in a shipyard or marine environment preferred </li><li style="line-height:normal">Strong knowledge of crane load charts and lift planning </li><li style="line-height:normal">Experience operating both hydraulic and friction cranes </li><li style="line-height:normal">Ability to work safely in a high-risk, industrial environment </li></ul>Physical Requirements:<ul><li style="line-height:normal">Ability to sit for extended periods </li><li style="line-height:normal">Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds regularly </li></ul>Education & Certifications:<ul><li style="line-height:normal">NCCCO certification (LAT [LBC] & TLL) required </li><li style="line-height:normal">Valid Class B driver's license </li></ul>Work Environment: This position operates in a shipyard environment with exposure to outdoor elements, heavy equipment, and elevated noise levels.
