Performs building and park maintenance work including alteration, repair and maintenance of City buildings and related mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems; Performs basic carpentry work, prepares surfaces and paints buildings; Inspects City facilities and equipment to determine maintenance and repair needs; Repairs and maintains equipment, tools and vehicles; Performs preventative maintenance as required; Assists workers with technical problems and assignments; Participates in the pickup, loading and unloading of materials needed for work assignments; Operates heavy equipment such as backhoes, tractors with attachments, dump truck, tractors, mowers, loaders, skid steer, trencher, excavator and truck/trailer combinations, scissors and boom lifts, bucket trucks. Starting hourly rate is $21.42.Under the supervision of the Facility Maintenance Supervisor, performs responsible skilled and semi-skilled work in a variety of Park maintenance, repair and construction jobs involving the use of common tools and equipment and frequently operates specialized equipment; does related work as required.
