The NP collaborates with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide comprehensive care to GYN, pregnant and laboring woman within their scope of practice. The NP uses the processes of assessment, diagnosis, management, and evaluation to provide care that integrates the psychosocial and physical needs of women. The NP obtains history and performs physical examinations to evaluate and coordinate patient care within the OB-GYN Department. Along with physicians, nurses and other members of the healthcare team, the NP strives to ensure the provision of quality patient care leading to optimal outcomes. The NP works in collaboration with the OB/GYN Department Chairman, attending physicians, and Nursing Services. Participates in patient and family teaching. Provides leadership by working cooperatively with health care team members in maintaining standards for professional practice in the clinical setting. Participates in quality improvement initiatives.
