External and internal eligible candidate only.Position Highlights:<ul><li>Full-time (40 hours per week), varied shifts, varied sites</li><li>Part-time, varied shifts and sites also available due to departmental growth!</li><li>Every 3rd or 4th weekend rotation</li><li>Two holidays per year</li><li>Occasional backup on-call coverage</li><li>Weekday and weekend shift differentials</li><li>Eligibility for the Clinical Ladder Program to support career advancement</li></ul>Position Summary:The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment, and for performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for daily operations of the sonographic laboratory, patient schedule, equipment maintenance, the report of equipment failures, and quality assessment. The Sonographer maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self –motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolve. Select positions may require the Sonographers that are registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) to perform limited Diagnostic X ray procedures.Essential Functions: Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:<ul><li>Perform all diagnostic Ultrasound procedures through proper technique selection according to department policy and procedure. This includes providing Ultrasound services on weekends, holidays, and call as scheduled. Patient care includes care to patients in the following age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.</li><li>Receives requests, checking for special instructions from the requesting physicians; consults with Radiologists as necessary.</li><li>Greets patients and actively identifies patient to ensure correct patient and procedure.</li><li>Explains procedure to patient and family.</li><li>Completes required documentation of patient history</li><li>Completes examination and billing as required.</li><li>Documents technical observations for each procedure and obtains assistance as needed.</li><li>Evaluate, synthesize, and communicate diagnostic information to the attending physician.</li><li>Communicate effectively with the patient and the health care team, recognizing the special nature of sonographic examinations and patient's needs.</li><li>Follow established departmental procedures.</li><li> Use independent judgment to acquire the optimum diagnostic sonographic information in each examination performed</li><li> Integrate diagnostic sonograms, laboratory results, patient history and medical records, and adapt sonographic examination as necessary.</li><li>Recognize and adapt to the needs of patients with varying cultural, religious and ethnic backgrounds.</li><li>May be required to travel to various site locations.</li></ul>Required Qualifications:<ul><li>High School diploma/GED.</li><li>Graduation from an accredited program for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.</li><li>Certified by the ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) in in Physics (SPI,) OB/GYN, and ABD within eighteen (18) months of placement in position.</li><li>Additional ARDMS specialty registries are encouraged.</li><li>American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification may be required for select positions.</li><li>In compliance with ARDMS and/or ARRT continuing education requirements.</li><li>CPR certification.</li><li>If providing portable services: Valid PA driver’s license required.</li><li>Completion of required clinical experience and hours required to take the ARDMS Abdomen, Physics, and OB/GYN registry exams.</li><li>Completion of required classroom hours and material required to take the ARDMS Abdomen, Physics, and OB/GYN registry exams.</li><li>Exceptional professional communication with patients.</li><li>Exceptional patient care skills.</li><li>Exceptional customer service skills.</li><li>Strong eye-hand coordination.</li><li>Valid driver's license may be required (based upon position assignment).</li></ul>Applicable to Maternal and Fetal Medicine Only:<ul><li>Certified by the ARDMS (American Registry of Medical Sonographers) in Physics (SPI,) OB/GYN, ABD within twelve (12) months of placement in position.</li><li>Vascular Technology (RVT) and ARRT certifications not required.</li><li>Nasal Bone/Nuchal translucency within six (6) to twelve (12) months of placement in position.</li><li>Experience with performing fetal echocardiograms preferred.</li></ul>Applicable to Cardiology:<ul><li>OB/GYN certification not required</li></ul>Preferred Qualification:<ul><li>Competency in all areas of specialty offered here.</li><li>2 years of experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.</li><li>Certified by the ARDMS (American Registry of Medical Sonographers) in and Vascular Technology (RVT).</li><li>Bilingual in Spanish.</li></ul><div class="pf-rwd-jobdetails-detail-row" id="DETAIL_ROW_1"><div class="pf-rwd-jobdetails-detail-row" id="DETAIL_ROW_1"></div></div>We believe that the best care for our patients starts with the best care for our employees.
