Training includes wound physiology, patient assessment, chronic disease and healing impairment, edema, perfusion, nutrition, infection assessment, tissue management, advanced wound therapies, procedures, documentation, coding, and clinical decision-making. The goal is to develop clinicians who understand why wounds fail to heal and can provide thoughtful, comprehensive care—not simply perform wound visits.
