As an <strong>MPD Choke Operator</strong>, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining well control, optimizing drilling performance, and ensuring safe, efficient operations. This is a high-impact position where your expertise directly contributes to operational success in dynamic drilling environments.</p><h3><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></h3><p><strong>Operational Excellence</strong></p><ul><li>Operate and monitor MPD choke systems to maintain precise wellbore pressure</li><li>Adjust surface backpressure in real time to ensure optimal bottom hole pressure</li><li>Collaborate closely with the Driller and Company Representative for seamless operations</li><li>Perform system checks, calibrations, and functional testing</li><li>Respond quickly to well conditions such as influx, losses, or pressure changes</li><li>Accurately log and report all MPD parameters and events</li></ul><p><strong>Equipment & Maintenance</strong></p><ul><li>Ensure MPD equipment and sensors are fully operational and maintained</li><li>Troubleshoot and assist with repairs of choke systems and related equipment</li><li>Manage inventory of spare parts and consumables</li></ul><p><strong>Safety First</strong></p><ul><li>Follow all HSE policies and well control procedures</li><li>Participate in safety meetings, drills, and pre-job briefings</li><li>Report hazards, near-misses, and equipment issues immediately</li></ul><p><strong>Team Collaboration</strong></p><ul><li>Work alongside Drillers, Mud Engineers, and MPD Supervisors</li><li>Communicate effectively during shift changes for continuity</li><li>Provide feedback to improve system performance and operations</li></ul><h3><strong>What You Bring</strong></h3><p><strong>Education</strong></p><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent (technical degree preferred)</li></ul><p><strong>Experience</strong></p><ul><li>3–5 years in drilling operations</li><li>At least 2 years in MPD or Underbalanced Drilling</li></ul><p><strong>Certifications (Preferred)</strong></p><ul><li>MPD certification (Premium U)</li><li>H2S, BOSIET, and other required safety certifications</li></ul><p><strong>Key Skills</strong></p><ul><li>Strong knowledge of drilling hydraulics and well control</li><li>Experience with automated and manual MPD systems</li><li>Sharp problem-solving skills under pressure</li><li>Proficiency in data logging and monitoring software</li></ul><h3><strong>Work Environment & Physical Requirements</strong></h3><ul><li>Rotational schedules (14/14, 20/10, 28/28)</li><li>Offshore and/or onshore drilling environments</li><li>Exposure to high-pressure systems and heavy equipment</li><li>Ability to lift up to 45 lbs</li><li>Comfortable working in extreme weather conditions</li><li>Capable of extended standing, walking, and equipment use</li></ul><h3><strong>Why Join Us?</strong></h3><p>Be part of a team where <strong>safety, innovation, and performance</strong> come first.
