Southland Holdings is seeking resumes for Oilers that are ready to come to work in Bartow, FL Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Oiler will be responsible for performing routine lubrication, maintenance, and minor repairs on various equipment and vehicles. This role supports both the equipment yard and the shop as needed. Key Responsibilities:<ul><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Perform regular greasing, lubrication, and minor servicing.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Conduct routine inspections and basic repairs.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Assist in the equipment yard and shop as directed.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Maintain accurate service record and report issues to supervisors</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Ensure a clean and safe work environment.</li></ul> Other Skills and Abilities:<ul><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Must be able to legally work in the United States.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Must be willing to work in a drug-free environment and agree to a post offer drug test. </li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Must be willing to work safely and keep OSHA recordable incidents to a minimum. </li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Willingness to continue to improve technical knowledge and ability.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">The ability to communicate well and get along with others is an important attribute for the success of this position.</li></ul> Prior experience preferred. Must possess the strength and stamina necessary to lift up to fifty pounds several times per day, and pull hoses from the lubrication truck to the equipment being serviced.

Job Description<ul><li>Checks fluid levels in engines, swing drives, transmissions, final drives, differentials, hydraulic system and cooling system.</li><li>Takes fluid samples from engines, swing drives, transmissions, final drives, differentials, hydraulic system and cooling system.</li><li>Delivers Petroleum, Oils and lubricants (POL) and/or coolant fluids to engines, swing drives, transmissions, final drives, differentials, hydraulic system and cooling system.</li><li>Changes Engine oil and filters.</li><li>Changes fuel filters.</li><li>Changes air filters if necessary.</li><li>Completely grease the machine.</li><li>Check and evaluate all mechanical functions to ensure correct operation.</li><li>Check Tire Pressure.</li><li>Check batteries.</li><li>Check belts.</li><li>Check hoses.</li><li>Clean or replace air conditioning filter.</li><li>Clean air conditioning condenser.</li><li>Drive all-wheel drive lubrication truck to equipment sites to perform this maintenance.</li><li>Keep equipment cleaned and well maintained.</li></ul> Job Requirements<ul><li>Interpret work orders and technical manuals</li><li>Experience in basic vehicle/equipment servicing</li><li>Knowledge of basic mechanical procedures and tools</li><li>Clean CDL class B license with HazMat Endorsement</li><li>Physical capabilities to meet the abilities described below</li><li>Fill out service logs or orders</li><li>Good vision, hearing and sense of smell to diagnose problems</li><li>Must be able to hold fuel, lubricant or grease dispensing nozzles during POL replenishment operations</li><li>Must be able to climb up and down on machines to reach grease points, refuel ports and lubrication tanks. The oiler must also safely operate a lube/grease truck to dispense lubricants to construction equipment. Must be able to take direction and accurately log daily activities, such as oil changes, samples, fuel usage, etc.Candidate must be willing to travel anywhere in the State of FL.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Servicing various types of heavy construction equipment.
• Checking and maintaining proper fluid levels for various compartments including engine, hydraulics, transmission, etc.
• Proper handling of successfully-collected fluid samples for analysis.
• Accurate record-keeping of all daily tasks via computer and/or paper transactions.
• Completing all daily paperwork required for DOT.
• Monitoring and maintaining inventories of fuel, oil, filters, etc.
• Visual inspections of machines and reporting conditions/deficiencies.

High school diploma preferred and on-the-job training required. Two plus years of oiler/lube technician experience - preferably with knowledge of heavy equipment.
