Neuro-Oncologist (F76380)Neurosurgery Department - VCU Health - Richmond, VAMission or Goal of Unit: As clinicians, educators, and investigators in the evolving field of Neurosurgery, our mission is to improve the health of all people by excelling in patient care, education, and research.Chief Purpose of this position: The Department of Neurosurgery is seeking candidates for a Neuro-Oncologist to contribute to our tripart mission at the VCU School of Medicine. VCU Neurological Surgery has a rich tradition of clinical and academic accomplishments with broad impact. Over 100+ years, VCU Neurosurgery has catalyzed transformative advances in the care of neurosurgical disorders, and we are committed to the ideal that such advances depend on exceptional, scientifically-informed clinical care across all areas of neurosurgery. This position is an Open Rank (rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications) full-time faculty position in the Division of Neuro-Oncology, Department of Neurosurgery. The faculty member will provide direct patient care, engage in medical student and neurology resident and fellow education, and participate in clinical research.Position Responsibilities: Clinical Primary clinical responsibilities include care of Neuro-oncology patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Teaching Faculty member will teach medical students and housestaff. They will be expected to participate in a series of formal conferences for the housestaff and students emphasizing issues in Neuro-oncology. They will attend weekly Grand Rounds and lecture upon occasion as requested. Research The Division of Neuro-oncology is engaged in clinical and translation research projects. The faculty member will be expected to participate in and, when appropriate, lead, clinical research and clinical trials. Service Faculty member will serve on departmental, School of Medicine, and/or University committees as necessary, as well as in a professional capacity in their field, e.g. reviewer, conference organizer, etc.Minimum Qualifications<ul><li>MD or MD/PhD degree (or equivalent)</li><li>Successful completion of a neurology residency and neuro-oncology fellowship at accredited institutions</li><li>Eligibility for medical licensure in Virginia</li><li>Board certification or board eligible in Neurology (ABPN) and Neuro-Oncology (UCNS)</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU</li></ul>#LI-KB1

Medical Oncologist and Hematologist (M68065)Division of Hematology Oncology, Department of Internal MedicineMission or Goal of UnitPursue the clinical, research, and education missions of the VCU’s academic medical center in the specialties of Hematology, Oncology, and Palliative Care.  Through bench research, clinical trials, and the rigorous study of prevention control, our scientists pursue the many roles of medicine in treating, preventing, and managing the adverse events of cancer through the continuum of care.  Our hallmark activity is translational research, where our physicians and scientists work to bring laboratory discoveries to the patient as quickly and safely as possible.  Through our training programs, our faculty train the next generation of physicians and scientists to further advance practice and science.Chief Purpose of this PositionThe VCU School of Medicine Division of Hematology, Oncology and Palliative Care and Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center are seeking a medical oncologist and hematologist to practice at our future, new location in Chesterfield County. This position will be responsible for seeing patients in the outpatient clinic and attending on the inpatient wards and consult service.TeachingTrains medical students, residents and fellows in the lab and while in the clinic.  Expected to actively participate in providing clinical research opportunities to fellows. Research      You will have access to our strong VCU School of Medicine faculty development programs, research training and resources.  You may participate in sponsored research activities for which your expectations include, but are not limited to, preparing manuscripts for submission to scholarly journals and preparing presentations as professional conferences.  Likewise, you may be an investigator on sponsored research activities. Clinical      Attends on the inpatient wards and consult service, and/or sees patients in the outpatient clinic with a focus on hematologic malignancies. Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications<ul><li>Board certified or eligible in medical oncology or hematology</li><li>Eligible for Virginia licensure</li><li>Evidence of accomplishment/potential (e.g. – publications, trial PI) during medical school, residency, fellowship, and/or early academic career</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty at VCU</li></ul>#LI-AC1
