Job Title: RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Nursing Administration Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience required License: BLS Certifications: ONS or ONCC Cert (if requisition for Oncology RN) Must-Have: - General MedSurg skills (foley insertion/care, peripheral IV placement/maintenance, bladder scans, NG tube placement/maintenance) - Chest tubes, trachs, wound care/dressing changes, central line/PICC/midline management, accessing ports - EPIC experience required - Charge RN experience and taking charge duties preferred but not required Description: Facility Overview: - Level II Trauma Center - Level III NICU - Level III Maternity - Total number of beds: 167 Unit Information: - Total number of beds: 16 - Average patient census: 16 patients per day - Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: General MedSurg, neutropenic precautions, end of life care, hospice, respiratory issues, pneumonia, any oncology diagnosis, patients receiving chemotherapy, "swing bed" patients, altered mental status - Patient Ratios: 1:4 days, 1:5-6 nights - If giving chemotherapy, will be 1:1 with patient and return to normal patient assignment when done Support within the Department: - CNA 1:6 days, 1:8 nights - Charge RN will take patient assignment - Phlebotomy for peripheral lab draws - Hospitalist available 24/7 - Respiratory support available 24/7 - SWAT RN (ICU trained) - IV/Vascular Access Team during day - Centralized Tele monitoring with Tele Techs Technology/Equipment: - EMR: EPIC required - IV Pump: Alaris - Med dispensing: Pyxis - Monitors: Unit specific equipment Floating: - May float within scope of practice at facility - Most common float areas will be Obs and MedSurg 4 Scheduling: - Weekend rotation: Every 3rd weekend - Holiday Expectations: 1 summer, 1 winter - Approval of RTO: OK to approve up to 7 days - Shift times: 0700-1930, 1900-0730 - Schedule cycle: Supervisor will make schedule in 6-week increments, receives 2 weeks prior to schedule beginning - Block scheduling requests may be accommodated but are not guaranteed Other notes: - Scrub Color: Any solid color, professional.
