Under direct supervision, is responsible for operating and maintaining various types of light to heavy equipment used in the construction and maintenance of County roadways, drainage structures, and associated rights of way; performs various routine construction and maintenance related tasks including those of an unskilled or semi-skilled nature; and performs related duties as required. The following equipment is representative of the size, weight and complexity appropriate for Equipment Operator I: Fork Lift, Hot Asphalt Raker, Sweeper, Stake Truck, Single Rear Mount, Rotary and Whirlwind type mowers, Dump Truck, Water Truck, Ditch Trenching Machine, Roller and Steam Cleaner and other construction equipment as needed.
