Under the general direction of the Director of the Optometry and Contact Lens Department, works independently using accepted optometric procedures to examine and care for patients requiring comprehensive eye examinations, contact lens care, emergency ward follow up care, urgent care, glaucoma co-management, and same day service attention. Fits and prescribes contact lenses for patients and oversees that his/her patients receive appropriate instructions in wearing, handling, and care of lenses Assumes responsibility for patients requiring same day attention that are referred internally or from surrounding area hospitals.
