Position Description The Bridge Superintendent is responsible for the safety, quality, efficiency, and timeliness of the project. This position will provide on-site coordination for all phases of the project, including material, equipment, subcontractors, and labor. While there are specific responsibilities and expectations described below, it is essential that the Bridge Superintendent be organized, possess good judgment skills, communicate effectively, and have technical knowledge of concrete and steel bridge structures. Vision , Medical , Dental , Paid Time Off , Life Insurance , Retirement, Full-Time Position Requirements DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES <ul><li>Promotes safety, quality, efficiency, and core values </li><li>Develops, refines, and updates the project schedule </li><li>Complete knowledge and understanding of contract drawings/specifications </li><li>Understands project costs and manages company assets </li><li>Creates and manages project documentation </li><li>Coordinates project operations including subcontractors and material vendors </li><li>Knowledge of all regulations to ensure all aspects of the project are compliant </li><li>Provides leadership and maintains effective working relationships with the on-site staff </li><li>Develops daily crew lists and manages field activities to ensure the project completion date is met </li><li>Leads weekly foreman meeting </li><li>Plans and develops a three-week forecast to proactively identify issues that could lead to problems and facilitate solutions </li><li>Maintains regulatory compliance for projects </li><li>Ability to interface and maintain good relationships with owners </li><li>This job description is not designed to contain a comprehensive listing of all activities, duties, or responsibilities required of the employee. Activities, duties, and responsibilities may change or include additional items at any time and without prior notice, verbally or in writing. </li></ul>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education <ul><li>High School Diploma or equivalent </li><li>Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or construction-related degree preferred </li></ul>Experience <ul><li>Minimum of five years of experience of progressive responsibility supervising bridge-focused construction projects </li><li>Minimum of five years of experience in a construction-related field </li></ul>Requirements/Competencies <ul><li>Ability to multitask on complex projects </li><li>Ability to read construction drawings and understand specifications </li><li>Familiar with Microsoft Office products </li><li>Can take charge and capitalize on opportunities </li><li>Demonstrates strong ethics and integrity through honest and principled behavior </li><li>Understands the viewpoint of higher management and effectively analyzes complex problems </li><li>Can communicate clearly and convincingly, both orally and in writing </li><li>Good decision-making ability by making informed choices quickly, confidently, and with integrity </li><li>Has good problem-solving skills and can identify and analyze problems, and generate and evaluate solutions </li><li>Is agile and can quickly adapt to new information and changing conditions </li><li>Should be self-aware and emotionally intelligent </li><li>Possess good interpersonal skills, including the ability to treat everyone with courtesy, sensitivity, and respect </li><li>Should lead by example, modeling positive work-life behaviors with the ability to attract, motivate, and develop employees </li><li>Can build productive working relationships with coworkers and external parties </li><li>Can recognize the importance of change and transition, and be able to manage and encourage the process </li><li>Proven record of delivering consistent, on-time, on-budget performance </li></ul>Valid Driver's License Required POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK This is a full-time position, and the work week for employees is normally considered 40 hours Monday through Friday. Flexibility is required to support time-sensitive issues as they arise. However, greater emphasis is placed on meeting the responsibilities assigned to this position. WORK ENVIRONMENT Most of the work is performed outdoors under all weather conditions. The work schedule will involve travel and potential work at different field locations as necessary. Depending on the project, overnight stays may be expected. Administrative work takes place in a non-smoking office or field office environment. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS An employee must meet the physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
