The Mobile Diesel Technician II will be responsible for performing licensed DOT inspections, Preventative Maintenance inspections, light and advanced repairs, advanced mechanical/hydraulic/electrical and electronic diagnostics, and other duties as assigned. Heavily relied upon for advanced diagnostics and triage of complicated repairs by Mobile Diesel Technician I/II. Considered the Lead on jobsites by customers and Technicians. Functions as a consultant on the customer's behalf. A successful Mobile Diesel Technician II complies with all company policies and achieves high level performance metrics. DUTIES: <ul><li>Perform scheduled preventative maintenance ("PM"), DOT Inspections and follow up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. </li><li>Perform minor adjustment and repairs on various types of truck equipment including, but not limited to the following: Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Diesel steering systems, Engines (gas and diesel), Transmissions (manual and automatic), Clutches, Differentials, etc. </li><li>Diagnose, adjust, and repair various types of truck equipment including, but not limited to the following: Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Air conditioning systems, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Diesel steering systems, Engines (gas and diesel), Transmissions (manual and automatic), Clutches, Differentials, etc. </li><li>Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges. </li><li>Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and to ensure that they are working properly. </li><li>Identify problems, determine accuracy and relevance of information, using sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives. </li><li>Independently manage parts inventory and equipment provided on company-issued service truck and perform periodic reconciliation. </li><li>Maintain and operate company-issued service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and pre-/post-trip inspections of vehicle. </li><li>Work with and listen effectively to clients and customers to assess their needs, providing information or assistance, resolving their problems, or satisfying their expectations. </li><li>Manage concurrent assigned tasks, making effective judgments as to prioritizing work related activities and time allocations. </li><li>Use hand tools, precision instruments, as well as Diesel tools, welding equipment, lift and jacks. </li><li>Document according to company standards and upload pictures of work performed, parts used, and all findings observed on Repair Orders ("RO") using company-issued iOS device and our proprietary TRAIT application. </li><li>Accurately complete DOT forms and all other forms of documentation in timely fashion. </li><li>Work with a high degree of independence and manage own daily schedule. </li><li>Maintain a high level of productivity and be able to work within or close to most Standard Repair Times. </li><li>Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as necessary for the repairs to be performed. </li><li>Communicate with management and support team via email or phone to obtain approvals on repair estimates, retrieve purchase order numbers and/or discuss RO findings notes. </li><li>Perform all work in compliance with organizational safety, health and environmental policies, and federal regulations, to include OSHA, EPA, and DOT. </li><li>Maintain company issued service truck, conduct safety checks and daily pre/post trip inspections. </li></ul>REQUIREMENTS: <ul><li>High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline; or 5 years' experience in a related field. </li><li>At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment </li><li>Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties. </li><li>OEM training and certifications are preferred. </li><li>Participate in and complete all-in company required training </li><li>Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties. </li><li>This position follows regulations issued by the Department of Transportation's (DOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Candidate must be able to successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment. </li><li>A current and valid DOT medical card with more than four (4) months remaining until its expiration may be submitted in leu of a DOT physical. If the DOT medical card has four (4) months or less of validity remaining, a DOT physical will be required. </li><li>Due to interstate operating authority commerce regulations, candidates must be at least 21 years or older. </li><li>Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required. We operate under a sell-manage-do culture, and so we expect that you’d work on challenging technical projects while leveraging your existing knowledge and experience to help Geosyntec expand its current practices and capabilities through business development and client management.<ul><li style="color: black; text-align: left;">Work in collaboration with the Geosyntec Dams and Hydraulic Structures practice and other key engineering staff across the country to lead business development activities:</li><ul style="text-align: left;"><li style="color: #333333;">Develop and coordinate a regional business strategy for Dams and Hydraulic Structures.</li><li style="color: #333333;">Establish relationships with potential clients.</li><li style="color: #333333;">Identify and track clients and opportunities.</li><li style="color: #333333;">Assist with recruitment of top talent to assemble a talented, multi-disciplinary team.</li><li style="color: #333333;">Leverage existing and establish new relationships with potential teaming partners.</li><li style="color: #333333;">Work with marketing staff for the preparation of marketing materials.</li><li style="color: #333333;">Lead the preparation of technical proposals.</li><li style="color: #333333;">Participate in professional organizations and activities.</li></ul><li style="color: black; text-align: left;">Provide technical leadership and oversight for Dams and Hydraulic Structures projects in one or more of the following technical areas:</li><ul style="text-align: left;"><li style="color: #333333;">Dam safety inspections and engineering assessments of concrete dams and their appurtenances and structural aspects of embankment dams, levees, and other water management structures.</li><li style="color: #333333;">Structural evaluations and stability analyses of concrete dams, spillways, outlet works, and other ancillary structures.</li><li style="color: #333333;">Performing potential failure modes analyses and SQRA and QRA risk analyses.</li><li style="color: #333333;">Alternatives analyses to evaluate and compare rehabilitation options for embankment and concrete dams.</li><li style="color: #333333;">Analysis, design, and detailing of rehabilitation schemes for dams and appurtenances, foundations and anchoring systems, reinforced concrete and structural structures, roller-compacted concrete (RCC) dams, chute spillway structures, energy dissipation structures, aprons; and channels.</li><li style="color: #333333;">Preparation of construction plans and specifications.</li><li style="color: #333333;">Design services during construction.</li></ul><li style="color: black; text-align: left;">Leading dam safety reviews for both mining and water dams;</li><li style="color: black; text-align: left;">Serve as a mentor for technical staff and assist with staff development and recruiting to grow the firm’s dam engineering capabilities; and</li><li style="color: black; text-align: left;">Ensure projects achieve goals for technical excellence, budget control, schedule compliance, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability.</li><li style="color: black; text-align: left;">Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed. </li></ul>

Education and Licensure:
<ul><li style="color: black; text-align: left;">Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field with emphasis on structural engineering. (required)</li><li style="color: black; text-align: left;">Advanced degree in the same or related field. (preferred) </li><li style="color: black; text-align: left;">Professional registration (i.e., PE or SE.). (required)</li></ul>

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
<ul><li style="color: black; text-align: left;">At least 10 years (15+ preferred) of relevant experience with dam engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)</li><li style="color: black; text-align: left;">Detailed understanding of Regulations and Guidelines including USACE, USBR, NRCS, FERC, and state agencies, and best practices by ASDSO, USSD, etc. (preferred)</li><li style="color: black; text-align: left;">Knowledge of Risk-Informed-Decision-Making (RIDM) methodologies such as USACE, FERC, and Reclamation. (preferred)</li><li style="color: black; text-align: left;">Previously approved as Part 12D Independent Consultant by FERC. (preferred)</li><li style="color: black; text-align: left;">Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams.
