The Providence Center Crisis Stabilization Overnight Nurse LPN or RN will coordinate intake, triage, and assessment for clients admitted to the CSU and monitor overnight CSU clients for behavioral health, clinical and medical needs.

This position is eligible for $5,000 retention bonus.Job Summary:The Providence Center Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) provides short-term care for patients experiencing an acute psychiatric and/or substance use crisis that could escalate to a point of requiring hospitalization. As an alternative to hospitalization or as a step-down for a transition between levels of care, the CSU’s services focus on stabilizing clients and addresses their mental health and substance use needs.The Providence Center Crisis Stabilization Overnight Nurse LPN or RN will coordinate intake, triage, and assessment for clients admitted to the CSU and monitor overnight CSU clients for behavioral health, clinical and medical needs.Schedule: Part Time 8-hour overnight shifts, 32 hours/week.Duties and Responsibilities:Screen, triage and assess clients admitted to the Crisis Stabilization UnitUtilize physical assessment skills to determine related nursing interventions.Develop an individualized consumer plan of care.Formulate nursing diagnosis based on initial assessment.Perform psychiatric nursing in accordance with appropriate medical protocol.Plan consumer care with other members of the team.Consult and utilize nurses with advanced clinical expertise and other appropriate resources to manage consumer care.Maintain confidentiality in accordance with Center Policy and legal requirements.Implement consumer plan of care, evaluate response and update consumer plan of care accordingly.Administer medications as per prescriber orders.Coordinate activities regarding consumer hospitalization.Collaborate with the staff members in providing care to consumers.Perform recordkeeping in accordance with Health Information Services (HIS) and other Center requirementsMaintain cooperative relationships with consumers, staff and the public.Communicate with various local agencies and other departments or teams at The Providence Center.Attend trainings, case presentations and conferences when applicable.Perform duties in accordance with departmental goals, objectives and standards.Participate in developing team goals and objectives.Other duties as assigned.Requirements:Rhode Island/Nurse Licensure Compact Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) required; Registered Nurse preferred.Bachelor of Science in Nursing.Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.Knowledge and experience with psychotropic medication, and ability to work well with professionals from other disciplines in a team approach.Experience with addictions populations preferred.Bilingual Spanish preferred.Experience with managed care populations.Care New England Health System (CNE) and its member institutions;Butler Hospital, Women & Infants Hospital, Kent Hospital, VNA of Care New England, Integra, The Providence Center, and Care New England Medical Group, and our Wellness Center, are trusted organizations fueling the latest advances in medical research, attracting top specialty-trained doctors, and honing renowned services and innovative programs to engage in the important discussions people need to have about their health.Americans with Disability Act Statement: External and internal applicants, as well as position incumbents who become disabled must be able to perform the essential job-specific functions either unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation, to be determined by the organization on a case-by-case basis.EEOC Statement: Care New England is an equal opportunity employer. Cultivate a trauma-informed environment by understanding the short and long-term impacts of trauma and neglect, responding to the residents and their family/caretakers with empathy, sensitivity, and respect and maintaining trauma-sensitive interactions. • Implement therapeutic crisis intervention techniques in accordance with policy, procedure and agency training and ensure that non-violent physical interventions are implemented only if a client is an immediate risk to self or others.

What You’ll Be Doing You will provide appropriate support in a trauma-informed therapeutic environment that promotes the physical, mental, and behavioral health of residents and assists residents in developing their life skills.  Work schedule available: Work schedule 1: Sunday, Monday, Saturday 12am-8am Your Main Priorities While additional responsibilities are likely to arise on the job, you will primarily: •    Responsible for the overall care of the residents, i.e., health and hygiene, education, and social/emotional well-being. •    Cultivate a trauma-informed environment by understanding the short and long-term impacts of trauma and neglect, responding to the residents and their family/caretakers with empathy, sensitivity, and respect and maintaining trauma-sensitive interactions. •    Collaborate as a member of the therapeutic staff team in exercising responsibilities and in such a way as to reinforce the residential philosophy and program protocols. •    Supervise the interactions and activities of residents; actively engage in day-to-day structured and unstructured recreational activities and life skill development and maintenance. •    Engage youth in participating in various life skills activities such as cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, budgeting, employment activities, etc. •    Support youth in maintaining a healthy, safe, and clean environment. This includes participating in household chores such as organizing, cleaning, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing dishes, etc. •    Implement both agency and individualized behavior management practices utilizing appropriate trauma-sensitive techniques to monitor, assess and document situations and client status. •    Implement therapeutic crisis intervention techniques in accordance with policy, procedure and agency training and ensure that non-violent physical interventions are implemented only if a client is an immediate risk to self or others. •    Use agency vehicles to drive youth to school, appointments, passes, etc. as needed.  •    The overnight shift is an awake shift; staff are responsible for conducting bed checks every 15 minutes during sleeping hours.  Who You Are Requirements, Skills & Abilities: •       High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in social work or related field preferred.  •       Minimum 6 months’ experience working with children and/or adolescents; experience working in a residential setting preferred. •    Strong organizational, critical thinking and time-management skills. •    Basic computer skills required; knowledge of Microsoft Office 365. •    Ability to communicate and effectively interact with a diverse population. •    Collaboration and teamwork.  •    Statewide travel is required.  •    Must have valid driver's license.  •    Must authorize Child & Family to complete a motor vehicle records check.  •    The ideal candidate will be required to meet all background checks and medical clearances required for the position.  Physical Requirements Direct Service Staff: This position requires time sitting, standing, walking, driving, carrying and lifting up to 25lbs. Qualifications:
