JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE The Shipping Associate 1 is responsible for the accurate handling, packing, labeling, and inventory management of finished goods. This role ensures all customer orders are prepared to specification, maintains inventory accuracy through cycle counting, and manages packaging supplies required to support shipping operations. This position will also utilize a company box van to transport products to customer sites. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Including but not limited to: <ul><li>Prepare, pack, and process finished goods orders for shipment in an organized and timely manner </li><li>Ensure all products are properly labeled, tagged, and packaged in accordance with customer and regulatory requirements </li><li>Stock finished goods inventory when items are not immediately shipped </li><li>Identify and report damaged, missing, or incorrect items to the supervisor promptly </li><li>Operate shipping equipment and systems safely and effectively </li><li>Maintain inventory levels of packaging materials, supplies, tools, and equipment </li><li>Perform cycle counts of finished goods and report discrepancies for resolution </li><li>Maintain clean, organized, and safe shipping and finished goods storage areas </li><li>Follow all company safety and security procedures and perform work in a safe manner </li><li>Support other departments and production areas as assigned </li><li>Proactively identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and overall performance </li><li>Support customer deliveries through use of a company box van. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES <ul><li>Strong attention to detail and accuracy </li><li>Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment </li><li>Self-motivated with the ability to work independently </li><li>Effective communication skills </li><li>Ability to learn and apply product/part identification processes </li></ul>EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE <ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent required </li><li>1-3 years of experience in shipping, warehouse, or logistics operations preferred </li><li>Experience with domestic and international shipping carriers (e.g., UPS, FedEx, DHL) </li><li>Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory management processes </li><li>Understanding of HTS codes, ECC codes, and international shipping requirements preferred </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word </li><li>Experience with shipment tracking, reporting, and month-end activities preferred </li></ul>PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS <ul><li>This position is conducted primarily in a warehouse and production environment and involves frequent movement, including walking, standing, lifting up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 80 lbs. occasionally, and handling materials. Work may require operating material-handling equipment and performing tasks in areas with varying temperatures, noise levels, and typical industrial conditions. Benefits: <ul><li>401(k)</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Training & development</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul> OVERALL POSITION FUNCTION Perform all tasks related to shipping and receiving finished products, raw materials, and purchased items in an organized, safe, and professional manner.  Work is done in a fast paced, team based environment, and this position requires the ability to work independently the majority of the time, and with others to meet daily demands.  All work is done in accordance to documented procedures, work place safety standards, industry practices, and the Company employee handbook.   SPECIFIC DUTIES/FUNCTIONAL TASKS ·         Coordinate with customer service and production to ensure that all orders are shipped as required. ·         Package, load, and oversee the shipment of all product on a daily basis.  ·         Understand all of the necessary paperwork for shipment of product, and be able to produce it as required. ·         Build required shipping skids, pallets, and containers, using basic carpentry skills. ·         Unload, inspect and store all receipts in a timely fashion.  Confirm all appropriate documentation for proper receipt. ·         Promptly deal with any damaged or delayed shipment claims. <ul><li>Use of tape measure, and ability to measure accurately.</li><li>Competence in driving a forklift and operating cranes.</li><li>Recognition and understanding of raw materials specific to product lines to meet customer requirements. </li><li>Other duties as assigned to support production and facility goals.</li></ul> PERFORMANCE METRICS Success is measured on: •        Competence and mastery of assigned work areas. •        On time delivery of the production area and facility. •        Shipment accuracy and quality. •        Amount of in transit damage from improper packaging. •        Attendance and punctuality.   REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITY ·         Must be able to operate a forklift and overhead cranes; previous forklift experience preferred ·         Experience with shipping software and carrier platforms (e.g., UPS, FedEx) ·         Experience with Epicor or similar ERP systems preferred ·         Must have basic carpentry skills ·         Ability to work both individually and as a part of a team ·         Must be detail oriented, quality conscious, and willing to make decisions to support the organizations positive quality reputation ·         Must have the ability to learn and retain new tasks and operations, and step between various duties in the job description seamlessly. ·         Must be professional, and able to deal with internal and external parties in a courteous and positive manner.   OTHER REQUIREMENTS ·         Must have reliable transportation ·         Must comply with all company policies, including drug screening policy ·         Must meet position overtime requirements as schedule demands   PHYSICAL DEMANDS The position works an 8 hour day with some overtime expected, 5 days per week, in a non-stationary shop environment.  Duties involve some desk/office work, but primarily standing and walking.  Position involves frequent lifting of product between 30 and 75 pounds. Tables, lift carts, forklifts, and cranes are available as needed.  Majority of the work is done inside the facility, but some portion is done outside (loading and unloading of trucks).   COMPENSATION  We offer competitive pay based on experience, Paid Sick Leave, Holiday, and Vacation.
