Job Description - Packaging Machine Operator Under the direction of the Production Team Leader, The Packaging Machine Operator (PMO) is responsible for efficiently and effectively operating a packaging machine, controlling total finished product produced, and ensuring bag and product integrity. Packaging Machine Operators are a key component of our overall business success. Essential Duties and Responsibilities This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time. <ol><li>Follow the guidelines of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), uniform and dress code, and product safety requirements. </li><li>Maintain departmental housekeeping standards, keeping work area clean and safe at all times. </li><li>Maintain a good attendance record and positive attitude. </li><li>Support company policies and be safety conscious at all times. </li><li>Ensure the quality of the finished product including: <ol><li>The integrity of the product package itself, including back and end seals. </li><li>Customer-mandated code information and packaging machine efficiency. </li><li>Bag weight variance. </li><li>Code date integrity. </li><li>Verification of metal detector performance with Quality Assurance personnel. </li><li>Reporting all deviations associated with these parameters to the appropriate Team Leader and Quality Assurance personnel. </li></ol></li><li>Maintain, troubleshoot, and operate all of the facility's packaging machines. </li><li>Assist fellow Packaging Machine Operators, Packers, and Process Operators in ensuring departmental and organizational efficiency. </li><li>Communicate effectively with departmental and plant personnel. </li><li>Work extended schedules as the needs of the business dictate. </li><li>Work in other areas as workload demands. </li><li>Perform daily and weekly cleanup and sanitation, including the proper handling of cleaning equipment and cleaning chemicals, with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ol> Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience Requires general aptitude, mechanical, and organizational skills, a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred and one to three months related experience to become familiar with equipment and processes. Language Skills <ul><li>Ability to read and write English. </li><li>Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. </li><li>Ability to write simple correspondence. </li></ul><ul><li>Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to Team Leaders, managers, and other employees of the organization. </li></ul>Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. The Production Associate role is an active and fast-paced role performing a wide variety of tasks associated with the production and packaging process. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Rotating between different production lines and job functions, this role performs a wide variety oftasks associated with the production and packaging of candies and confections. Keeping up with general line production, expertly fills boxes and packs cases with finished product tosupport and fulfill Customer commitments. Efficiently sends completed cases through the taper and stacks finished goods for shipment. Keeps assigned production line(s) running efficiently by delivering finished product and packagingmaterials to the line in a timely fashion. While performing assigned duties, performs constant visual checks to help ensure all our productsmeet stringent internal and customer expectations. Supports Company SQF and GMP policies and food safety requirements by keeping assigned work areaclean and free from any contaminates. QUALIFICATIONS Strong desire to achieve while working within and supporting a team environment Prior food manufacturing experience helpful, but well train Self-starter, hardworking with a positive attitude Must be able to lift up to 30# frequently Wage: $15-$16.50 Equal Opportunity Employer

This position will involve understanding our scheduling tools, assembling and loading the company truck, executing paperwork and computer work, and unloading and correct placement of materials into the plant.
