The Shipping & Receiving Clerk will excel by efficiently and effectively acting as a member of the broader team, ensuring we can deliver products to our customers with excellence and accuracy, as well as receive raw materials.Responsibilities:<ul><li>Prepares orders for shipment, moving materials as needed, within the warehouse to the shipping area.</li><li>Stores received materials in assigned locations in or around the warehouse.</li><li>Packages and prepares materials for shipment, including special preparation and paperwork required for hazardous materials.</li><li>Prepares required shipping documents for both domestic and foreign shipments.</li><li>Affixes appropriate labeling according to the shipment requirements and regulations.</li><li>Examines ongoing shipments to ensure internal and external specifications are met and procedures are followed.</li><li>Promptly transfers materials to and from production areas to ensure safe and efficient operations.</li><li>Including ERP system transfers and physical inventory transfers.</li><li>Records and checks quantity and quality of goods received for conformity to purchase orders and/or specifications.</li><li>Inspects the received goods, making note of any damages or discrepancies, and immediately reporting the same.</li><li>Inputs incoming material items into system database using local scanning system.</li><li>Maintains accurate shipping records and verifies documentation for accuracy and completeness.</li><li>Performs electronic system (ERP) transactions to reflect movement of material and products.</li><li>Assists in maintaining inventory of shipping materials and supplies to ensure adequate supplies are on hand to meet shipping needs.</li><li>Operate equipment and follow procedures in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>Requirements:Minimum of a High school diploma (or GED equivalent) and at least 2 years of related warehouse/shipping or receiving experience.
Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
Proficient with computer use, ERP systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, Office 365.
Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs often, stand for at least 5 hours and operate forklift/hand truck equipment.
Previous experience shipping hazardous goods packages/freight via ground, air and ocean.
Hazardous goods certification(s): DOT, IATA, IMDG, 49 CFR preferred.
Prior JDE or similar ERP system experience.

Job DescriptionPOSITION:  Shipping Clerk REPORTS TO: Site ManagerPOSITION CLASSIFICATION: Full Time – Hourly ExemptJob Summary:A Shipping Clerk is responsible for all aspects of packaging of finished goods, order pulling, shipment of orders (U.S. and International), and warehouse organization.Duties/Responsibilities:·      Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment: Compare identifying information and count, weigh, or measure items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.·      Determine method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.·      Pull orders from generated reports. ·      Affix shipping labels on packed orders/shipments·      Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications. ·      Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies. ·      Operate forklift truck or use hand truck/pallet jack to move, convey, or hoist shipments.·      May receive damaged or defective goods returned to establishment.Required Skills/Abilities:·      Must have current forklift certification issued within the last 3 years when operating a forklift.·      Minimal 1 year experience operating as a Shipping Clerk.·      Must be able to read and comprehend work orders in English.·      Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled building which may be quite cold in the winter and close to 100 degrees in the summer.·      Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.·      Neatness and organizational skills are required.·      Must be able to operate a manual pallet jack.·      PC skills to use FedEx, UPS, StarShip Software, VShip Software and print labels. Experience with using Great Plains software is preferred, and if not known, must be able to train and be using the software efficiently within 3 months of hire date. Education and Experience:<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent required. </li><li>Must undergo a background check. </li></ul>
