Position Summary:Your primary role will be to facilitate student learning, not only helping our students achieve their program and course objectives but guiding them as they shape their future in the industry. Our instructors organize all aspects of the classroom function, including cleanliness, safety, demonstration materials, and lecture. You will administer lessons following a pre-developed lesson plan, leading your students through the practical, hands-on application of the lessons you teach.Role Responsibilities:We ask all our instructors to motivate their students by demonstrating professionalism, enthusiasm, and sensitivity for their concerns. We want you to engage them, actively involving them in classroom discussions and/or activities. An important part of this role is to identify different student learning styles and adjust your own style accordingly.<ul><li>You will maintain accurate record keeping, as it applies to student attendance and their grades, and you will advise students on their attendance, grades, and discipline issues, as necessary.</li><li>Our instructors are expected to create and maintain a safe environment at all times.</li><li>It will be your responsibility to manage all tools assigned to the classroom. You will issue, inspect, repair, and teach proper handling of those tools.</li><li>As a highly visible representative of the school, you will communicate, support, and enforce school policies and procedures at all times, and advise students accordingly.</li><li>During periods of testing, you will ensure an ethical and fair testing environment.</li><li>Instructors are responsible for maintaining classroom equipment through evaluation, inspection, parts ordering, and repair.</li><li>You will use your experience to constantly evaluate the curriculum to ensure continuing relevant.</li><li>You will conform to prescribed methods of record keeping, as directed by supervisory staff.</li><li>It is important to communicate promptly regarding supplies, tools, or other essentials needed for students in the classroom.</li><li>You are expected to maintain a working field knowledge through continuing education and demonstrate continuing professional development of your technical expertise, and as an instructor.</li><li>One of the most rewarding parts of this job is attending our semi-annual graduation ceremonies; attendance is mandatory for our instructors.</li></ul>Additional Admin Duties:Our instructors also assume additional administrative duties that include the following:Instructor Training and Development:<ul><li><ul><li>The successful applicant will work as part of the team to develop and maintain the Instructor Training and Development program.</li><li>You will implement the program and maintain all records necessary to demonstrate successful implementation.</li><li>You will be expected to monitor new instructors in training and confer regularly with the training instructor regarding an instructor trainee’s progress.</li><li>Instructors will provide mentorship, leadership, and feedback for new instructors, accepting responsibility for his/her successful classroom preparation.</li><li>You will regularly report all information and insight regarding a new instructor to the Lead Instructor/Director of Training and assist them as necessary in the selection of new instructors for hiring.</li></ul></li></ul>Printed Material, Classroom Supplies & Tools:<ul><li><ul><li>You will be asked to teach new instructors, as part of the new employee orientation, how to request and order material, supplies and tool.</li><li>Instructors are expected to conduct a monthly inventory of the tools necessary for classroom projects and discuss discrepancies with the phase instructor. You will report discrepancies to the Lead Instructor/Director of Training.</li><li>You will prompt other instructors to order printed material, supplies, and tools to ensure adequate materials are available for student.</li></ul></li></ul>Personal Professional Development:<ul><li><ul><li>You will establish and implement a plan to cross-train and be able to teach in any phase of training necessary.</li><li>You will update the Lead Instructor/Director of Training on the progress of your plan for his/her review and feedback.</li><li>It is important to establish and implement a plan to explore continued study of education related issues (i.e., learning styles, learning disability recognition & accommodation, classroom technological capabilities, etc.).</li></ul></li></ul>Serve as Assistant Instructor as Necessary: <ul><li><ul><li>The successful applicant will be willing and capable of participating in any phase of training as a temporary assistant instructor, especially in laboratory settings where our students need additional coverage and supervision.                                                                                 </li></ul></li></ul>Maintenance of Appropriate Learning Environment:<ul><li><ul><li>Instructors conduct monthly classroom and laboratory inspections, noting and addressing any physical facility maintenance needs and the general cleanliness and attractiveness of the area.</li><li>You will monitor working condition of training aids and discuss this with phase instructor and report non-working equipment to Lead Instructor/Director of Training.</li><li>You will assist classroom instructors in the repair and maintenance of training aids as necessary, without minimizing the instructor’s responsibility for training aid maintenance.</li><li>You will facilitate maintenance for campus facilities, using available resources.</li><li>You may be asked to repair tools/equipment not directly associated with a particular class.</li></ul></li></ul>Special Student Assistance:<ul><li><ul><li>Instructors should be available to help to students needing short term tutoring.</li><li>In cases where it is identified that a student needs more extensive tutor attention, you will consult with the Lead Instructor/Director of Training.</li></ul></li></ul>Safety Program: <ul><li><ul><li>Instructors may assist the Lead Instructor/Director of Training in the development and implementation of a safety program.</li><li>You will monitor the safety program in classroom and laboratory areas, and remind students and instructors of all safety requirements, and request that the program be follow.</li><li>You will report any repeated infractions of the safety requirements of the School to the Lead Instructor/Director of Training.</li></ul></li></ul>Peer Review and Feedback:<ul><li><ul><li>You will monitor each instructor and assistant instructor monthly in their respective classroom/laboratory settings and complete a feedback form of noted observations.</li><li>You will provide any appropriate positive or negative feedback for the instructor’s review, with recommendations for improvement in areas of need.</li></ul></li></ul>Time Commitment:<ul><li><ul><li>The is position may require work on evenings and weekends in order to meet business need.</li></ul></li></ul>Curriculum Development:<ul><li><ul><li>Instructors assist the Lead Instructor/Director of Training with curriculum development as necessary, including topic research, text material acquisition, lesson plan development, test writing, etc.</li></ul></li></ul>Personnel Issues: <ul><li><ul><li>You will refer all personnel issues to the Lead Instructor/Director of Training, such as requests for vacation, changes in scheduling, questions about salary and benefits, etc.</li></ul></li></ul>Student Issues: <ul><li><ul><li>Instructors work with students to resolve any concerns they may have, or when necessary, direct them to the party best suited to assist them.</li></ul></li></ul>Leadership: <ul><li><ul><li>Instructors must be willing to assume the duties of the Lead Instructor/Director of Training to assure continuity in his/her absence during vacations, etc.</li></ul></li></ul>Required Knowledge, Education and Experience:The successful applicant must have a High School Diploma or GED, and the minimum required years of field experience, dependent upon the region.Physical Environment:<ul><li>The successful applicant may stand for long periods of time.</li><li>You will be required to use calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other office equipment as needed.</li><li>Please be aware that stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required.</li><li>Your work may be completed in classroom or shop environment.</li><li>You can expect wet and/or humid conditions;
