Join the Drug Plastics team at our Valley City location.  This is a Monday thru Friday hourly position. The Packer Inspector is responsible for packing finished product into cartons and to assure that the product meets the quality standards defined on the Product Quality Standard (PQS) form. 1st Shift hours are: 9:00am -2:00pm.About Us: Drug Plastics is a competitive, growing company that wants people who are eager to share their knowledge, talent, and experiences. Products are stack or tumble packed, and inspected based upon customer specifications and requirements.</li><li>Remove full cartons from packing stand or from tumble pack area, then close the carton in accordance with DPG procedure and PQS sheet.</li><li>Grind all clean scrap and rejected bottles generated by the machines for which they are responsible.</li></ul> Specific Responsibilities <ul><li>Complete and provide to supervisor all required daily production reports.</li><li>Immediately notify Process Mechanics and/or supervisor of any discovered, or suspected product quality problems or mechanical malfunctioning of equipment for which they are responsible.</li><li>Enter production information into Plant Star automated system (if applicable) at the completion of the shift in accordance with DPG policy.</li><li>Effectively and fully communicate any problems with machine operation or production issues to the Packer/Inspector on the upcoming shift.</li><li>Perform assigned responsibilities in grinding, re-inspection and quarantine areas in accordance with relevant DPG policies.</li><li>Maintain all areas around equipment and work areas in a clean and organized manner.</li><li>Undertake personal responsibility to become, and remain fully qualified to perform all aspects of the position as outlined in the Job Competencies for the Position of Packer/Inspector.</li><li>Follow safety guidelines, Company policies and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).</li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul>Job Requirements<ul><li>Good mathematical skills to perform basic math calculations, to include addition and subtraction.</li><li>Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written. </li><li>Ability to read effectively while performing job duties, as well as in determining whether the product meets quality standards. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to make well thought out decisions and ensures appropriate courses of action are taken.</li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment and under pressure.</li><li>Vision must be correctable to ’20-20’ to read all necessary work related materials and visually identify defects in products being produced. Must be able to perceive and accurately identify differences in colors and shadings.</li><li>Hearing acuity sufficient to understand spoken instructions or phone conversations in a factory environment.</li><li>Ability to work overtime (OT) as required.</li></ul> Education and Experience<ul><li>Previous manufacturing environment experience preferred.</li><li>Plastics industry experience a plus.</li></ul> Physical DemandsThese physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
