Under the leadership of the departmental Director and/or Manager, the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is an active member of the interdisciplinary team providing high-quality patient care. Up to one year of work-related experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a hospital and/or skilled nursing facility setting preferred.

Position Summary:Under the leadership of the departmental Director and/or Manager, the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is an active member of the interdisciplinary team providing high-quality patient care. The PTA will work under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT). The PTA must be able to collaborate with other professional disciplines as well as interact with the patient, family members, and significant others.Basic Qualifications:<ul><li>Education:</li></ul>Completion of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.<ul><li>Experience:</li></ul>Up to one year of work-related experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a hospital and/or skilled nursing facility setting preferred.<ul><li>Licensure, Registrations & Certifications:</li></ul>Requires a current state license as a Physical Therapist Assistant.Requires a current certification in Basic Life Support. Essential Job Responsibilities:<ul><li>Provides physical therapy treatments according to the physical therapists’ treatment plan in the acute care and/or skilled nursing facility setting. May provide treatments in additional settings including but not limited to home health at the discretion of the department Director.</li><li>Communicates with manager and other health care interdisciplinary team members regarding patient progress, problems or plans. </li><li>Records daily treatment notes and other required documentation timely and completely. · Records treatment charges daily and completes charge tickets in accurate and timely manner.</li><li>Supervises Physical Therapy Aides in direct patient care and related activities as requested.</li><li>Meeting production requirements for physical therapy rendered as defined by the organization.</li><li>Complies with the Georgia State Physical Therapy Practice Act.</li><li>Assumes responsibility for safety, infection control and performance improvement as part of CRHS’s efforts to provide quality care and services. Performs all associated duties, responsibilities, and tasks.</li><li>Presents a professional image to CRHS’s co-workers, clinical and medical staff members, patients, families, and visitors.</li><li>Attends professional development programs and in-service training and meets the minimum requirement for continuing professional education.</li></ul>
