SALARY RANGE:     $19.00 - $23.00/ hourPOSITION SUMMARY:The Entry-Level Facilities & Maintenance Technician supports the Facilities Manager in maintaining the organization’s five (5) facilities and associated grounds. This role is responsible for performing a variety of general maintenance, light repair, and office support tasks to ensure a clean, safe, and well-functioning environment for employees and visitors.This position is ideal for a dependable, hands-on individual with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Facilities & Maintenance Support <ul><li>Assist with general building maintenance activities including painting, minor repairs, and basic upkeep </li></ul><ul><li>Perform carpet cleaning and spot maintenance as needed </li></ul><ul><li>Hang pictures, signage, whiteboards, and other wall-mounted items </li></ul><ul><li>Assist with preventative maintenance and routine inspections </li></ul>Office & Workplace Support <ul><li>Move, assemble, and rearrange office furniture and equipment </li></ul><ul><li>Maintain cleanliness and organization of common areas, conference rooms, and shared spaces </li></ul><ul><li>Replenish coffee stations, kitchen supplies, and breakroom inventory </li></ul><ul><li>Refill water and supplies in conference rooms and meeting areas </li></ul>Grounds Maintenance <ul><li>Support upkeep of exterior grounds including light landscaping, debris removal, and seasonal tasks </li></ul><ul><li>Assist with snow/ice management coordination as needed </li></ul>Team & Project Support <ul><li>Provide day-to-day support to the Facilities Manager </li></ul><ul><li>Assist with special projects, office reconfigurations, and internal moves </li></ul><ul><li>Respond to facilities requests and complete assigned work orders in a timely manner </li></ul> QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:Education & Experience <ul><li>High School Diploma or equivalent required </li><li>Prior maintenance, custodial, or handyman experience is a plus </li></ul> Skills & Competencies <ul><li>Positive, “can-do” attitude and willingness to learn </li><li>Strong reliability and work ethic </li><li>Basic knowledge of hand tools and general maintenance tasks </li><li>Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team </li><li>Good organizational and time management skills </li><li>Strong attention to detail </li><li>Perform semi-skilled facility maintenance.</li><li>Safely and effectively use, operate, and maintain equipment and tools.</li><li>Perform heavy manual labor.</li><li>Demonstrate strong customer service skills and establish, maintain and foster positive and effective working relationships with employees and vendors.</li><li>Maintain records and files on work performed.</li><li>Effectively communicate in person, over the telephone, in email and in writing.</li><li>Ability to work independently. Frequent walking in operational areas to identify problems or hazards. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, calculator, and to operate tools and equipment. Incumbents in this classification bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and inspect work sites. Incumbents must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds or heavier weights with assistance and/or the use of proper equipment. ENVIRONMENTAL ELEMENTS:Incumbents work in both indoor and outdoor environments with moderate to loud noise levels. May work in controlled temperature conditions, cold and hot temperatures, or inclement weather conditions. Exposure to chemicals, mechanical and electrical hazards, and hazardous physical substances and fumes.
