The Patient Care Technician functions as a member of the unit staff under the direction and supervision of the professional Registered Nurse.\n \nResponsibilities:\n\n Direct Patient Care Activities\n Assists with admission, transfer, and discharge process.\n Takes and records temperature, pulse, respirations, weight for adults and/or neonates, height, and blood pressure.\n Duties may include: maintaining temperature logs on, defrosting, and cleaning refrigerator, straightening linen, cleaning utility rooms, cleaning IV poles, cleaning scale, cleaning and returning equipment to SPD, replacing and disposing of soiled linen bags.\n
