This position is part-time and limited term (March to October 2026), which requires staff to report 2 hours prior to the game and remain up to 1-hour post-game.

Summary:Reporting to the Director of Field Operations, Game Staff assist in all duties that directly relate to field preparation during Nationals home games; pre- and post-game. This position is part-time and limited term (March to October 2026), which requires staff to report 2 hours prior to the game and remain up to 1-hour post-game. Game Staff must be available for at least 50% of Nationals home games (81 games) during the season. This is a part time, limited term position, working an average of 34 hours per week.Weather and/or non-baseball events may offer opportunities for staff to work additional hours beyond their scheduled shift. Employees can expect to work in unpredictable and adverse weather conditions and should be aware of those dangers prior to applying. No prior experience is required. This position does not receive any company sponsored benefits.The Nationals are a military-friendly organization actively recruiting veterans and spouses.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li>During inclement weather, responsible for maintaining playing conditions and safely covering the field with the field tarp.</li><li>Batting practice set-up and breakdown.</li><li>Pre-game and post-game field preparations.</li><li>In-game duties as assigned.</li><li>Assist in maintaining a well-organized, clean, professional looking shop and break room area.</li><li>Perform any other duties as assigned.</li></ul>Requirements:Minimum Education and Experience Requirements <ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li></ul>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities necessary to perform essential functions <ul><li>Must be available for at least 50% of Nationals home games (81 games) during the season. </li><li>Must be 18 years or older.</li><li>Authorized to work in the United States.</li><li>Successfully pass a Background Investigation.</li><li>Ability to lift, carry, and transport up to 50 lbs. </li><li>Available to work days, nights, holidays, weekends, overtime if necessary.</li><li>Ability to work in a professional, team atmosphere.</li><li>Ability to meet deadlines under pressure and/or frequently deal with a rapidly changing work schedule and environment throughout scheduled shift.</li><li>Move quickly under unpredictable situations.</li><li>Ability to learn while on-the-job.</li></ul>Uphold Core Values: Excellence, Performance, and Accountability. The job is not considered dangerous; however, employees working with tools and machines, can be injured if they use them carelessly.</li><li>As mentioned above, at times, employees can expect to work in adverse weather conditions. Applicants should be aware of those potential dangers.</li><li>Because of the physical demands of the job, candidates are expected to be able to lift, carry, and transport up to 50 pounds and have the ability to move quickly under unpredictable situations.</li></ul>Compensation:The projected wage rate for this position is $18.25 per hour.  Actual pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to the applicant’s: qualifications, skills, expertise, education/training, certifications, and other organization requirements.
