JOB SUMMARY: The Security associate’s main responsibility is to search for, respond to and handle any security issues/concerns or emergency situations in accordance with all policies, procedures and within brand standards to ensure the safety and security of the property’s assets, guests and employees.SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE: <ol><li>Must have the ability to provide professional and courteous guest service.</li><li>Must have good time management skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.</li><li>Must have good organizational skills and strong attention to detail.</li><li>Must have the ability to understand and follow verbal/written instructions and communicate both verbally and in writing.</li><li>High school diploma or equivalent required.</li><li>Must hold a valid driver’s license.</li><li>CPR certification preferred but not required.</li></ol>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: <ol><li>Assists all guests in a professional and courteous manner.</li><li>Performs job duties and responsibilities in a cost-effective manner and within budgetary guidelines.</li><li>Patrols all areas of the property including outside parking areas on a regular basis.</li><li>Notes, searches for, handles and reports any unusual circumstances, including safety violations, car theft or destruction, and any suspicious or undesirable persons and escorts off the property if necessary.</li><li>Conducts thorough investigations of all security incidents.</li><li>Documents security incidents daily.</li><li>Completes proper reporting forms as necessary to document losses of property or personal injury to a guest.</li><li>Maintains knowledge of all property disaster and emergency policies and procedures and responds immediately to emergency alarms or calls for help. Determines appropriate course of action and notifies authorities if needed.</li><li>Enforces the property’s ‘No Solicitation Policy’.</li><li>Escorts and witnesses cash handling as needed.</li><li>Acquires working knowledge of the property and all facilities to respond to guest questions effectively.</li><li>Understands and applies all hotel safety and security procedures as required to maintain a secure and safe environment for employees and guests.</li><li>Keeps supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to his/her attention so prompt corrective action can be taken.</li><li>Performs all other duties as assigned.</li></ol>OTHER CONSIDERATIONS: <ol><li>Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position without compromising guest satisfaction or essential business functions.</li><li>The intent of this job description is not to state or imply that the duties listed are the only duties that will be performed by the individual in this position. This position requires continuous standing and walking on various surfaces (asphalt, cement, carpet, etc.) throughout the entire shift up to ten miles per shift. This position also requires frequent lifting, carrying, bending and reaching throughout entire shift and occasional interaction with law enforcement.  Hazards may include, but are not limited to, slipping and tripping, working with disgruntled, intoxicated or hostile guests, and exposure to variable temperatures and weather elements.Compensation & BenefitsThe target pay range for this position is $16 per hour.This position offers both full-time and part-time opportunities with great flexibility. Some weekends or evenings may be required.
