How You Will Fulfill Your Potential Responsibilities <ul><li> Perform identification of surgical and autopsy specimens </li><li> Process specimens through fixation and dehydration </li><li> Embed tissue samples for sectioning </li><li> Sectioning of embedded tissue by using microtomy techniques </li><li> Coverslip prepared slides </li><li> Perform staining procedures </li><li> Conduct Immunohistochemical testing </li></ul> Education/Accredited Programs <ul><li>2yr Associates in Science </li></ul> Licenses/Certifications/Registrations <ul><li> New York State License / ASCP certified </li></ul> Skills/Abilities <ul><li> Ability to read and understand SOPS and departmental procedure and safety manuals </li><li> Ability to understand communication with attending pathologist and or pathology assistant in both written and oral forms </li><li> Ability to demonstrate effective problem solving and team building skills </li><li> May teach and orient new staff regarding SOPS </li></ul> Communities We Serve Located in the foothills of the beautiful Adirondack mountains, Glens Falls is conveniently located a short drive away from the capital region and Lake George. Salary Range The expected base rate for this Glens Falls, New York, United States-based position is $26.33 to $39.50 per hour. Exact rate is determined on a case-by-case basis commensurate with experience level, as well as education and certifications pertaining to each position which may be above the listed job requirements. Glens Falls Hospital is the largest hospital between Albany, NY, and Montreal, Canada, and the comprehensive health care system for New York's Warren, Washington, northern Saratoga, Essex, Hamilton and northern Rensselaer counties. In addition to our main acute care hospital campus, we operate 29 regional health care facilities, including health centers in the communities of Cambridge, Corinth, Granville, Greenwich, Hoosick Falls, Salem, Whitehall and Wilton.

Simply put, our not-for-profit hospital provides a health care safety net for individuals and families from the immediate Glens Falls area to smaller, geographically remote communities tucked away in the heart of the six-million-acre Adirondack Park.

These outreach programs are especially important for low-income individuals and families who may otherwise fail to seek out health care due to financial or transportation concerns.
