Overview:
The Lead Pathology Secretary directs the daily workload performed by the Pathology Secretaries ensuring that the department provides exceptional support to the Department of Pathology and to the pathologists.

Responsibilities:

Salary Range:
The compensation range for this position is $18.19per hour - $29.47per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. Overview:
POSITION SUMMARY:Responsible for preparing and staining tissue specimens for microscopic examination and diagnosis by a Pathologist. In doing so, performs high complexity and/or non-routine histology procedures requiring independent technical assessment of assay performance. Position is responsible for technical operation of specialized histological assays including training, education and continued quality improvement of the high complexity procedures. Position will lead and direct the optimization and validation of new laboratory equipment in accordance with applicable regulatory accrediting agencies. Position will assist with the technical oversight and directing of routine histology procedures in order to ensure high quality, diagnostic throughput. Additionally, positon will be required to participate in the onsite NACCLS accredited School of Histology by ways of lecturing, providing educational resources or directing student clinical training. Position requires attention to detail, technical expertise of the chemical rationale of the assays performed and the analytic skills required to remedy any technical difficulties encountered with high complexity histology assays. Transcripts will be requested prior to phone screenings to verify that required credit hours are met. 

Qualifications:
